Probably much the same as me, I loved Ditko's work back in the 60s and 70s, never realised how many comics he worked on at the time

I wonder how many people bought Amazing Adult Fantasy thinking they were going to get something naughty? lol, great vid as always.

I think that was a possibility, guess something that Marvel realised and changed the title for the last issue. Amazing Intelligent Fantasy or Amazing Sophisticated Fantasy ... perhaps not. Glad you liked the video

I'm sure I would have gotten this because like you I'm a big fan of the Atlas/Early Marvel monster era, but I already have the 2 Lee/Kirby "Monsterbus" books, as well as the 2 Ditko Master of Suspense volumes, so I suspect there would be a double-dipping factor of about 98% ( minus the Don Heck stuff, probably). Nice pick-up, though...

Yes, there will definitely be a lot of double dipping with this volume, there were a few other tales such as Don Heck but the Monsterbus / Suspense sets would cover most of the rest. I like both formats. I also read many of them in those old 70s comics, they flooded the market with them back in 73 / 74

Some great stories in here, looks like a nice comprehensive edition but I always feel personally I'd love if Marvel reprinted this era of Ditko more along the lines of the Fantagraphics and Taschen treatments of his work, with the original printing/colour reproduction style intact to some extent (I know they won't though). Hopefully there'll be some sort of Ditko Artist edition at some point, surely it's overdue, and i think Fantagraphics may be reprinting some of his work in the upcoming Atlas Comics Library collections.

I suspect we will never see a Ditko Artists edition, I hope we will though. I agree, a Taschen or Fantagraphics (like the current Atlas ones) would be great to see with all of Ditko's amazing work. I don't think Marvel will ever change from the slick colour reproduction / restored now.

Great stuff! Need to get it. Good size as well. Have the Suspense Omnis with the Lee/Ditko stories. Can't fault Ditko's artwork. Is this DM cover or...?

I have no idea about the covers, they normally do two. I got this via Amazon.

Some nice weird wacky stories. I agree with you, other sci-fi, horor and fantasy issues from that time need to be reprinted. tales to astonish, strange tales, tales of suspence.

It is odd that they are sort of forgotten about, it is often just the key story shown such as with Iron Man and TOS 39. There are some wonderful stories in this volume of AF

I have that - its a great collection. Have also got a couple of the issues themselves, including 14 which is probably the closest I'll ever come to owning AF15! - Re: that "Man Who Could Fly" story - it was reprinted wasn't it in the John Byrne X-Men Hidden years omnibus, where in fact the character does show up in one of the issues if I recall correctly.

thank you, I knew it was one of the X-Men collections, yes, the hidden years omni. Enjoyed reading that set as well as getting the comics when they came out. Yes, AAF 14 is pretty close to one of the key Marvel titles !!

Its a good looking book, as for the AF#15 cover debate I would go with the Kirby one , its more dynamic for me with Spidey being the focal point whereas with the Ditko cover the villain tends to take centre stage , but it is of course all down to personal opinion.

I can understand that, the criminal is behind and not covering Spidey. It is a more dynamic cover (but I still like the Ditko one).

The volume I have has the title spine printed upside down, it annoys me no end.😁 Great collection and deserves its own volume.

I agree, it is annoying when something like that stands out. Such as for me, having Amazing Fantasy on the spine but Amazing Adult Fantasy on the cover - a minor niggle though. It is a wonderful collection though
