When did Jimi Hendrix played the chords in this piece he used major sounding rhythm accents. But on the E chord turnaround he played mostly E minor pentatonic. There’s a lot of variables in the theory of this one. but Jimi Hendrix did not look at the guitar in intervals and modes. He played chords that sounded good together, and use mostly pentatonic-based solos. It’s a fun way to play. Thanks for checking out the video. Catch you later.👍

Finally got around to putting the time in with this. I've been able to play Hey Joe for a while, but some of the chord embellishments have always been beyond me. The pull offs and hammer ons that Jimi did are mind blowing and something I just can't seem to get to sound musical. This is such a great way of doing it, sliding down adds just that little bit of spice I needed. And those triad shapes are invaluable. Really brings some beautiful variation to the melody. Thanks so much Rusty, really appreciate it. 🙏
