Just seeing this now (mid December 2019) and will probably watch it quite often and enjoy vicariously. btw I used to have a Military Macaw. He wasn't mean to me personally, but he was protective and would put his wing over my head and "mantle" as though claiming me when the man I was married to came anywhere near. He knew some seriously foul language and used it at some funny moments.... Thanks for this video.

That was fantastic, beautiful photography and the story behind it. There is one caution about Peru...they do not seem to look after their bears too well. They pack them off to England with the name Paddington force them to wear a sun hat and feed them on marmalade sandwiches...🤗 Clearly a very nice man and very self effacing...a lovely presentation and I wish you every success.

Im peruvian, cuy is a very typical meat in peru, maybe that specific plate in that restaurant is reserved for weddings but not the "Cuy" itself, farmers eat it regularly and 60 Soles for it is a tourist trap XD, maybe its because of the location and clients but as i said, im peruvian and thats not acceptable for me. I live in Europe and went back some years ago to visit family for the first time in decades, even as a peruvian many times ive seen how they tried to scam me on prices, its a shame but it is very common in Perú to have a price for tourists and another for peruvians, althought its not legal. Some places might be focused on tourists tho, and they might charge 60 Soles for a "Cuy" XD. Altitude sickness is pretty common for non locals, and the food sickness is pretty common on people that are used to eating food with high hygiene standards, i dont know if its better or worse, but peruvian food, generally, is not as clean but more natural instead, like the old ways. Both of my grandmas reached 90+ years while living in their rural farms, and i met one elder relative that was still working her farm alone at 90+ years on the mountains. I guess you get used to it over time, i got sick aswell, although i was born and raised there XD, doctors told me i wouldve died if my relatives didnt take care of me during the night, before Taxis were able to take me to the village.

I don't think it was an actual Peruvian shaman that did that one, it was an American who had learned from one and was making it stronger with other psychotropics. Fact check me on that I'm not sure, but I seriously doubt with just the usual ingredients you would kill someone. Mostly just make them throw up a lot and crap their brains out while seeing fractals lol.

@@TheUnknownAdventure From what I remember your pictures look just like the place... The American that died was an 18yr old and the shaman buried him somewhere by the compound to cover it up. But I need to find the source. Your pictures gave me a flashback to that old story.

i used to raise birds, parrots will tear your face off. i know a guy with half a nose because of a parrot he had. i was given one by a breeder that was super mean. they were scared of him. i held him with oven mitts and his bite still hurt. after awhile he stopped biting me and let me hold him without gloves. the people that gave him to me were amassed to see that i was picking him up bear handed
