We have rust free iron manhole covers in Portland, Oregon. Some on very rarely driven roads. I was told once that they treated them by annealing their surfaces with oxygen free torches. I'm not sure how that would be done. Some are over a 100 years old.

It boggles the mind how much effort must have been put into the design of these pillars etc before anything was done and then the whole project to achieve them, and why so complex and with what tools? Hard to make sense of many of the incredible constructions throughout India.

Have seen it... it's amazing!! Way back in 1984, there was no barricade around the Iron Pillar...we could touch it and were allowed to put our arms around, with our backs to the pillar.( For luck! :) ) And yes, it is rust free!

Maybe they treated the column just like cast iron pans. Heat them with fat until they can't rust any more. I wouldn't be surprised since the lingams are also coated with butter.

How is it that human figures, some mildly erotic in the Vedic way, were used in a " mosque " ? Interesting. Thanks!

Yeah, we know where the parts came from; the point is that they were willing to use them.

естетика такого рівня не могла розвинутись і бути затребуваною в суспільстві з низькою продуктивністю праці, вона привнесена, а про технічні складності навіть не треба говорити, той хто хоть щось робить руками, це бачить

Actually this was a Hindu monument..Islamist morons during invasion forcefully erased all hindu carvings from it...But, yeah...at the top there are still hindu gods carvings & at the bottom & in the near by area you can see hindu lord Ganesha's small carvings! Muslims tried their best to erase everything but we can still find small details the original builders!

13:19 - What is the dark mass on the roof? Could it be a sign of this structure being buried in the past?

Hi Vlad. This is a great subject to cover. I have seen info on this one. I don't remember the dates connected to it, but is very old. Praveen Mohan (Phenomenal Travel Videos) did an informative video on it. You have done a great job with this one. They worship thousands of gods, Shiva being one of the main ones. The carvings are beautiful. Thank you for adding more to the history which belongs to them.

They claim that Angels came down at night and constructed some of these over s few nights. Others account of rods or septars pointed at rock that shaped them. Does the Queen have a button on hers 👍
