I am quite handi with these excavators, but I must admit I did not know how the dude was going to let the truck down "easy" at the end. When he sort of pulled it off I had the "ah ha moment", but my god, the point loading on that back axle is going to have a breaking point some day as they are pushing the undercarriage apparatus far beyond its design strength. Fun video!

It's really a very clever way of unloading the excavator. I can sense quite a disparity in the people making comments like "lolz get a rAmp idIots!!1" and those praising the ingenuity of the method. That should speak for itself.

While I see a lot of you think this is ridiculous, I commend them for being resourceful, making do with what they have. I'm willing to bet they do this every time they move it, and they do it successfully. Obviously compared to american standards the truck is over loaded, but I'm also willing to be it last a normal service life, as you can tell they do everything gently so the frame stops take a great deal of the load from the axles

Safety executive? In Thailand?! I used to live there, they don't have safety inspectors!! Try riding one of their small busses called Tuk Tuks (or Bok Bok's in the Southern parts of Thailand). Very inventive country and blessed by God (or whoever you want) as there are less accidents then you would think when you see cool stuff like this! Interesting/dangerous/friendly country.

creative, yes I agree. But, do this about five times and your truck frame will be out of shape and resembling a banana. Obviously, its not a new truck and not under warranty but people try and claim warranty on bent trucks saying they have been operating the vehicle 'by the book'. I enjoyed the video though :)

I'm more worried about the truck frame... they can take a spread load over the entire frame, but cant take a pointload like an excavator, when its not centered over the axle. At the trailer and bodybuilder i worked, we allways equipped trucks like this, with a long rear overhang, with foldable jackstands at the back. Its not only safer but also saves your truck frame when it has support at the back when unloading a 20 ton excavator.

Actually he did quite well and was smooth, sometimes you do what ya gotta do at the time with what ya got. I'm sure their safety restrictions on hauling must be much less than in the USA. No jumping or jerking around, the truck did not get damaged.. and loaded it it just the opposite of how he took it off... I never used my ramps when loading my excavator but it was on a lowboy not a truck such as this. He could have done much worse... :)

@Guess34 you know not all the world is at the cutting edge? its thailand... instead of these men not doing any work with their truck and excavator because they dont have any ramps to unload it, they improvise. This means there is a service in their area that people wouldnt have if not for them, builds up the area, hence "moving the world forward". Didnt really think of that did you?

This is one of the reasons we outsource. The running costs of operations like this are nothing like what we are used to in the first world. That truck obviously can take the pain, they have probably been doing this a while.
