Miss Pam, wouldn't it be better to make the dressing in a bowl so it's combined completely and then dumped it over the cabbage? Seems like it would be a lot easier than trying to make sure those little bits of this and that get on all of the pieces of cabbage. Just my two cents 😊

Coleslaw is my favorite all around snack. If I could make it into ice cream, I would!! It’s healthy & fires off all the taste buds really good 👍🏻. I do mine similarly but add a shot of plain keifer instead of the sour cream. Your recipe is a PERFECT baseline however the texture and flavor usually needs to be tweaked for individual tastes.

That looks delicious. The only thing I would do differently is wash the bagged coleslaw mix before using it. I had a nurse tell me they did a test on bagged salads and found there was more bacteria in the bags of salad mix than there was in the toilet bowl. I always wash my bagged salads three times then spin the excess water out.

That has got to be better than the wimpy coleslaw dressing I've seen from the store. -- Purple / Red cabbage, I wish they would include that by default. It looks and tastes so good with the green cabbage and orange carrots. (No objection to those purple carrots, except I have not tried cooking those to see if they turn a weird grey.) -- Apple cider vinegar or malt vinegar. -- I liked the commenter's suggestion of celery seed. -- LOL, raisins wold send this toward the carrot salad side, which doesn't quite fit coleslaw, but I don't know if anyone uses them in coleslaw. -- I will admit, I would probably just use RealLemon from the bottle. ;) -- Good stuff. Thanks, Ms. Pam.
