I totally agree with you. People need to think if their book is going to help the customer solve their "problem" or is just for the extra bucks. I've seen a bunch of coloring books on Amazon that are just a lot of "copy and paste" images with no sense whatsoever. With just a few tweaks, I managed to sell 100 units of my book in a month. After that, I began watching all your videos here. Now, I always check to see if you’ve uploaded a new video. @@AnkurDaveReels What I'm currently doing is: 1. Learning all the new KDP rules and updates. 2. Deciding what type of book I want to publish. 3. Researching competitors' books-I'm studying negative reviews to understand the problems buyers have. 4. Creating books that are difficult to make, so I don't have to worry about competition or saturation-I successfully applied this method on Etsy and am now trying it on KDP.

I'm glad they're starting to crack down on the AI book spammers that are filling the marketplace with a bunch of garbage. It's bad for Amazon's customers and it's bad for legitimate authors. I'd love to see them restrict authors to publishing a single long content book per quarter and a single low content book per month. This would be an even better approach to weed out the riff raff. Legitimate authors produce quality content, and that means lots of editing and verification. This takes a lot of time, usually much longer than it takes to write a book in the first place.

I’ve been considering writing a book for a year or so but, after investigating Amazon KDP, I was put off by the flood of books people were making using AI and thus, swamping Amazon with so much AI generated content, that legitimate books would never be seen or bought. Just not worth all the effort to write a book and learn every aspect of the requirements to upload to Amazon. But if Amazon has now clamped down and got rid of most of these shoddy swampers, I’ll be tempted to reconsider writing my book. I don’t use GPT in my work. I want 100% my creation

For the last week or so, I actually watched Sean's video (a different one + a few more) and went to amazon kdp to check it out for low and medium content books. Obviously the top tier low content books on the top 100-1,000 looked great. Didn't buy them so I wouldn't know. But aesthetically looked amazing! 👏🏽 (Would I buy them? Heck Yeah! But I'm low on money so... 😭) Medium content books looked more fun to create (obviously requires more effort) but a lot of the books on Amazon didn't look that great or the sample work definitely looked way too 'low effort'. 😑 (Would I but these? No way! If anything, I felt like I had some responsibility to edit them! 2-3 I have discovered, however, that looked pleasing to the eyes and the sample looked AWESOME 🧡) High Content Books in the Top 100 😘👌🏼 For the most part. Except for H.Potter and Percy.J books, a lot of the other books were just so amazing! ❤ Sample promotion wise, as well as the book covers were really cool. I haven't checked very in-depth with high-content books yet like going past the top 100, so obviously my opinion is slightly biased. 😂 But I will say is that it helps to understand if a customer wants to buy your book or not, is when you're interested in buying your own book. It broke my heart to go through a lot of medium content books where nothing was delivered right. Especially considering the demography of the customer. Obviously I'm just skimming through, but it's so blatantly ruthless, right? Moral of the story: Hustling is fine, but don't trick and sabotage your customers. They're your lifeline.

Hi Sean, first of all thanks for these videos, they're packed with so much great information. Super helpful for beginners and more seasoned publishers! I have a question about keyword stuffing. I've seen in KDP forums that books that have the term "stress-relief" in the title are getting banned because it's a "pseudo-medical" claim. Do you know if this is the case? I don't know why it would be prohibited--there are lots of books about, say, alleviating back pain, that are written by non-medical professionals and people without credentials. I don't know why "stress-relief" would be a ban-worthy term. Thanks again, you're the best!

I first published and posted it for about 5 days three years ago but it was far to early a draft and I pulled it from the 90 day deal you do by exclusively publishing with KDP and no other platform and forgot what they call that, maybe it was "KDP Select". I want to do the right thing too about what you call the "new KDP" so I can maximize my trilogy sales I want to release with KDP's "Rapid Release" program. What is it that you have to offer to a fiction writer where I could be a jump ahead of other novelists with my trilogy?
