Hey Adam. Thanks for another great video. Timely for me as I have been out of stock now for a couple weeks as my shipment has been stuck in port for a few weeks now. So definitely we need to try to get re ranked. While I have been waiting I placed another order as well to prevent me from running out of stock again. Problem is shipping cost has gone up drastically. I am currently selling the product for $21.99 and with the increased shipping price and all the Amazon fees my breakeven is $20.88. While I have watched all your videos and learned a lot over the last few months when I got started I did not know about dimensional shipping weight. So Amazon FBA fee ended up being $3 more unit. Which is most of the profit margin I was counting on. Now I have $10k of my money tied up into 2 incoming shipments. While I may eventually be able to sell it for $24.99 even then the profit margins seem thin when you take into account advertising, returns, etc. Also I think the opportunity cost is adding up and I may be better of just to cut my 'losses' and sell out of this product and launch another product. Just wondering if you agree with my thoughts and the profit margins too thin. Thanks again man. Keep grinding.

Yeah, at those margins growth and cash flow will be a problem. I think I would make the best of the stock you have coming (test much higher prices) and use that cash for a higher ROI product (shoot for 150%+ on your next one...min 100% after PPC, returns, etc).

@@AdamHeist Thanks man. When you say 100% you mean after COGs + Amazon fees? So if my breakeven point is $20.88 in this example than I should be selling it for $42 atleast? Thanks again

You are just a true down to earth guy with great ethics. I haven't started selling and am in the research and course taking phase. I know this channel is not for for financial gain and you don't push courses on people but ill tell you what Adam, if I had the chance to have you as a one on one mentor I would absolutely jump at the opportunity. Food for thought mate. Keep it real brother. Peace

Great video and content thanks again Adam. I'm in this situation with my first product which was a hit but been out of stock for 4 months...thanks Uni Cargo. My approach is aggressive PPC with a brand video and a barrage of Amazon Posts social media. Let's see what happens. Might give this a go later down the line. Top stuff.

That should be good too! Main different between launch and re-rank is that it takes longer (given the algo timeframes I describe in the video). Keep your foot on the gas for a solid month and you should see it come back to life.

I wished I had this a month ago. I got a 2 star review on an good selling asin which lasted as the only review for a month. As the sales dropped, I decided to close that asin once it got out of stock, and start a new one, with a brand new restock. As soon as I did that, the old listing got multiple 5 star reviews with videos and photos back to back. If I watched this video a month ago, I could have revived the old asin, which stood out of stock for a month. The only fear I had was rankings.

Hi Adam, thanks for the great video. I hadn't thought about BOGO in my rerank strategy. I was wondering, at the 9:40 mark, you have a spreadsheet that delineates between PPC sales and organic sales; how are you getting that information? is it coming from Amazon business reports? Thanks again.

Thanks for the great content! Do you think this makes especially sense after being out of stock because there is something like a new "honeymoon" period? Or would this strategy actually also make sense to just get better organic ranking in general (even if you were never out of stock)?
@AdamHeist
2 жыл бұрын
Not a new honeymoon in my experience. Yes should work for ranking in general, though it's usually not financially prudent to do all the time.

Hi Adam, i've been following your channel for long. Wanted to have a quick questions for you: We have an old ASIN that has over 3300 reviews with 4.6 rating. However, most of our competitors are priced around $35. Recently we don't have much KW share (say top 3 ASIN share 90% of the kw, we only have 1%). Have you experienced such things before? Other than optimizing KW in the listing and PPC, do you have any other suggestion?
@AdamHeist
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it happens. It's likely your offer isn't as strong any more (price, photos, differentiator, etc). Try working on the offer and test redoing the listing (check out my listing masterclass for ideas there).

Hi Adam! Great video, I just had a quick question. How do the returns work in that case? B/c if I do buy two get 1 free, are they able to return the purchased items and keep the free one? Thanks!
@AdamHeist

Great question! I'm actually not sure on that one:) I'll see if I can find out. My assumption would be is that they get a 1/2 credit if they return one of them.

Hi Adam, Great Video. Does amazon double the fees since they are filling two orders? Or does the fee structure stay the same less the double COGS of my product?

Yes. FBA fulfillment fees apply to every unit ordered unfortunately.

When creating the promotion, wouldnt it make more sense giving it some catchy name, like "Buy 1 get 1 Free" ? Without giving it such a clear name its very difficult for the customer to actually understand the promotion in my opinion. What do you think?
@AdamHeist

Yes, sure. BOGO is just short form for buy one get one.

It could or you may need to do it for an extended period. Depends on how long you were out of stock, how competing ASINs are performing on rank variables, etc.
