Poor Lebanon. I remember when I was a kid, I went to dinner with my parents and one of their friends, who was Lebanese and lived there during some of the Isreli bombing campaigns. She described what it was like, getting so used to explosions, that you eventually stop reacting to them unless they are very loud and close by. She described how you just have to accept that you could be blown up and theres nothing you can do about it. And a footnote to Alistair's analysis: Bernie was, and HAD to be, crushed like a bug in 2016 and especially in 2020, when there was a real threat that progressive aims might succeed.
