You're one of my favorite working artists. Your Jungle is some of the best I've ever heard, absolutely transportive. You are amazing, thank you for sharing your art with us.

Ahhh yeah... more music from psiX, you make my favorite style of jungle! One question, at 19:23, track Raman, that cymbal... tambourine... whatever-it's-called-sound you use that has a long reverb and starts with a higher pitch then it hits again with a lower pitch. Where is that sample from? The first time I heard it was in the song "Triton" by Romolo Di Prisco (Need for Speed 3 soundtrack) when I was a kid, and I've been trying to figure out where it's from ever since. It's been haunting me for longer than two decades!

Hey, thanks! The sample itself is the sound of a drumstick hitting a metal pole. This one is present in the Zero G Jungle Warfare Volume 1 in the fx section (no post processing, just the pole sound) That sample pack has pretty much every sample used in NFS3HP's Rom di Prisco tracks along with some of the rock genre tracks.

@@omnirhythm thanks! Tbf we probably both used the same sample pack as there wasn't anything as good as Zero-G JW1 back then. It's pretty fun to find the origin sounds for the musics in our old memories.

@@neuralfold Quite possible! I'm sure Rom and other in-house producers didn't shy away from sampling. It's always a great feeling to find that origin sound. Happened to me with Visit Venus - Planet of Breaks Arrival (0:46 uses a sample from Donkey Kong's Cave Dweller Concert) :D

I have my soundcloud and bandcamp pages and that's about it. I'm not really able to manage social media regularly so I try to keep it limited to this. In response to what DAW I used, I started out using FL Studio since back in 2010, but this Phonon EP was entirely made in Renoise, since I've wanted to play with the tracker workflow a bit.

Yes, I made this EP as a sort of practice using Renoise as I recently started using it, after using FLStudio for 11 years. They both have their own advantages, but I think Renoise works pretty well for messing about at the sample level.
