Man, I repeated this tutorial twice. The second time I did it with from the Elektron Overbridge software and instead of using the sequencer, I used my Arturia Keystep Pro. This was an excellent exercise to learn about sound design and two sequencers...! 2x1 Thanks!

There are so many little gems in this tutorial. One of the biggest ones for me was how subtle the changes are that you make in your sound design. I tend to throw everything I can at every sound, trying to use as many parameters as possible to create a crazy unique sound. This was a big reminder to slow down and use my ears! Thank you!

I not only love your explanation videos, no, I also LOVE it, when trying to make music with as little as possible equipment. I think restrictions push us artists (I count myself breathtakingly among them) always into more creativity. This has limits of course. But I think making music and/or concentrating on some few aspects gives better and more interesting music. 🙂

Correction: it is not necessary to load kit when changing pattern. The A4 links the kit to the pattern. For example, if I use kit “techno” for pattern A1, when I switch to pattern A2, whatever kit A2 pattern is associated with will automatically load with it.😊

Nice one! Really the analog four is better than people seem to think, dig deep and it will reward you. I´m using 2 now one Analog keys and the MK11 and its a sweet pairing using drum tracks on the keys and sequencing the MKII with the keyboard is a much better feeling. Analog keys sell for very cheap these days.. I wish Electron makes a new version of the Analog keys with analog drums and a splash of FM.

No no don't sell it. 4-part/poly synth with sequencer trig conditions and a CV track besides. The DSI Tetra price is approaching Elektron A4 MK2 prices, being roughly at par with MK1 prices now when the A4 is so much "better" (I have multiples of both). Elektron usually caps off at a MK2 so this is it. It will appreciate. I've got a MK1 as well and while I like small footprint and color, the Mk2 is so much "better". Elektron has its own sound and I can't say that it's my all-time favorite sound (Moog is), but it's very modern and unique. And it makes for a great analog drum machine, more editable than most.

Great tutorial! I only use my AR MK2 and A4MK2 (the grey ones- love that color) with Overbridge. Any ideas how to use delay and reverb inside a daw? Would you use a send to an fx track or as an insert ( I use Studio One).

2 жыл бұрын
That is a good question, I think that it is possible to route audio back into the Analog Four in Ableton but I have no idea about Studio One.
@sinesoundmukke4359
Жыл бұрын
The internal effects like Delay and Reverb etc. in the A4 or the Analog Rytm don´t work via Overbridge (Audio over USB). You have to use the Master Outs, then you will notice that they work.
@Tapepusher
Жыл бұрын
They do work via overbridge :) you just stop the 4 voices from routing to the main buss and only leave the fx routed there, then you set a new channel listening to that main buss, and there you have all your fx in one channel via usb.
@erikfischer2443
Жыл бұрын
Thanks guys. I understand the FX routing in Studio one and Overbridge now. I can get the fx its own channel, I use send or insert FX in studio one for each track of A4.

I have one and it is very clean and clinical. Microtiming in the sequence makes it a little funkier. Another great use is unison mode... all 4 voices, 8 oscs, play at once for a thick, wideband sound. Also the presets are actually kinda of good for getting out of your own head on this box. I dont usually find that but the basics are so accessible you need to explore more on this.
