The 5950x is to expensive for gamning especially since many games do not use all cores anyway.. buy the 5900x instead and do a tiny overclock and you save about 350usd and get the same performance in games and even outperfom the 5950x. ps. games are designed to run perfekt on the average comsumer pc = 4-6cores. If you computer is larger that is great but it variate allot game to game if they use more then 4 cores or is able to use more than 4. Also some games love single core performance, other perform better with many cores. The 5950x is mostly for people who do video editing and other stuff.. If you just do gaming buy the 5900x And get the 6900xt graphics card vs the 3090rtx and it uses less power... you save like 40% and get more performance in games. Ray tracing might be better with the 3090rtx but lets face its fps in games that count and im sure amd will come up with something that is just as good ;-) If you have a "pure" amd system you even get like 3-5% extra boost in performance

I think that the current price of 5950x is not justifiable yet for those who are more likely going to be just gaming most of the time. Also, I did some research online; many people said that we are less likely going to see games using that many threads or cores even in the future because companies assume that people have an average machine and actual games code doesn't require that many threads to run simultaneously; so the 5950x is a total overkill and might be more meaningful for those whose life depend on video processing and editing. 5600x is quite powerful on it's own for gaming. I think that 5900x is the perfect balance between both. 5900x will beat the 5950x on certain games that require more single core power instead of multi threading. Also, if the 10 fps difference is frustrating for you, a small overclock on your GPU or the 5900x or even the 5600x will get you there without having to spend 500+ dollars on the 5950x. If you are a gamer and a creator, the 5900x will give you the edge you looking for without compromising on gaming. I feel AMD made the 5950x just for marketing purposes since you'll never use that many cores in real life.

Depends on the game. This is what I'm debating with myself. I could get the 5600x and save a ton of cash but I do play highly CPU bound games like Satisfactory, Anno 1800, Stellaris, I could also go for a 5800x but at that point you may as well get the 5900x to get 4 more cores for 100$ extra the 5800x has the worst price perfomance ratio. I looked up some benchmarks for some games like satisfactory they scale beyond 8 cores. So at the end of the day my thought process is to decide between the 5600x and the 5900x. The question at the end of the day is will it spare me an upgrade cycle on my CPU if I get a 5900?. I tend to upgrade every 4 years or so (about 2 generations of cards) If I bite the bullet and splurge on the 5900 I might benefit from that 4-5 years down the line when all I need to do is pop in a new GPU. more and more games are generally using more cores and the trend will certainly be towards multithreading. On the other hand I currently have a 1700 gen 1 ryzen.... If I had splurged on the top shelf ryzen gen1, whatever that was, 4 years ago I think it would still be obsolete today. I don't think I'd do noticeably better in my CPU bound games. Or these 5900x CPU's could turn out to be the new 2500K which everybody and their mother had at some point for like 10 years before needing to upgrade the CPU

@@Malinkadink good advice you my man i 100 % agree with you, with one mention even at 1440p is not worth it for +10 +15 FPS max :D -The only reason when 5900x is worth for games is when you par it rtx 3090/rx 6900xt and you play at 1080p 360 Hz then you wil see those 50FPS + like here in this video. -At 1440p monitor and you par it with something like rtx 3080/rx 6800xt then the 5900x not worth it cause it will be bottlenecked by gpu, i bet it will be max +10-15 FPS max vs 5600x with 3080/6800xt Here i found an example of 5600x vs 5800x vs 5900x + rtx 3080, and at 1080p Ryzen 5900x has +5-15 FPS vs 5600x, and at 1440p has only +10 FPS vs 5600x +rtx 3080: kzitem.info/news/bejne/tJVuuX2QkaxpZYI So at 1440p for +10-15 FPS more i have to pay 225 euro more to take 5900x insted of 5600x? No thanks:D Not to mention that at 150 FPS those +10 FPS you won't even feel it i guess lol, Yes mabe if you have rtx 3090 mabe for +50 FPS it will worth... , - And at 4k you will get same FPS as with 3600x+ rtx3090/rx 6900xt cause you will anyway bottleneck by rtx 3090 at 4K. - Yes not to mention that at the end of this year or in january 2020 the Ryzen 6600x with that +25 IPC improvement will perform better than 5900x in games, just like is now is with the 5600x outperforming 3900x in games;)
