Great video Nick! There is an excellent book out called 'Fort Lee: Birthplace Of The Motion Picture Industry' that was put out by the Fort Lee Film Commission (you probably have it) a few years ago. It's published by Arcadia, the company that puts out those really interesting paperbacks on just about every hometown in America. There are also some old buildings there in Fort Lee (at least there were when I lived there years ago), that house hundreds of thousands, if not millions of old videotapes, film, nitrate film, and even recording industry master tapes! I think they are off of Main Street (maybe John Street?), and they are leased by many major TV networks for storage. I think they were called 'Fort Lee Film and Storage' or something like this. Keep up the great work!

Tom Meyers gave us that book when we were making our "History of Rollercoasters" video a year earlier. Our video utilizes all the info from the book.

The first step to bring back the Film Industry to Fort Lee is to want it to come back.

...dunno if you ever saw the old post office on Main St - it had murals of the early years of the movie history of the town...I grew up there from 1950 to 1961...there's a picture of the studio on the corner of Linwood Ave (where I lived) and Main St that shows the reflection of Holy Angels Academy (both my paternal aunts graduated from there)...that studio burned to the ground in 1958 - I passed it the day after it began burning on my way to and from 4th grade at Our Lady of Fatima grammar school on Whiteman St...a kid who lived two doors down was one if the kids inside the warehouse when it caught fire - he and his friends were playing with the old, flammable nitrate films - and using a Zippo lighter- which is what caused the fire
