I remember when they used to play this before each movie in theaters. So beautiful and majestic. Gives me chills every time I listen to it. God Bless this great country of ours!

Amen my friends...I have said for years that this should be the national anthem. In 1970 i played this (percussion) with the Maryland All State band and i have loved it ever since.

I agree it sounds more beautiful than the anthem even though the anthem is moving as well. I have to disagree though since the anthems lyrics were written at the very moment we were gaining Independence. It's much more meaningful in its context. Both however are very emotional and should inspire American Pride in all who Love their Nation.

When I was about 10 years old, my Dad (who was an electronic gadget freak) installed a 4-track cassette stereo deck in the family station wagon. No one had even heard of "car stereo" back then, but we had one. And whenever we went on camping trips in the mountains, my Dad would play all his favorite music, including this historic recording by Carmen Dragon and the CapCity Orchestra. While he was driving, I was 'conducting' in the back seat. Its been 50 years since I heard it last. Thanks so much for posting it.

Back in the early 60's my father installed a 4-track stereo in the family station-wagon, recorded his favorite music on a cassette, and we'd listen to it as we drove through the scenic back-country of Oregon, en-route to camping trips and such. This Carmen Dragon CSO performance, and the Battle Hymn of the Republic by the MTC caught my imagination, and led to my lifelong love of classical and orchestral music. This one has been hard to find. Thanks so much for posting it.

Corporations are actually quite tyrannical organizations, devoid of much democracy. You advocating more worker participation is essentially asking for more democracy, a supposedly sacred American ideal. But, hey, you're a commie! Give me a break.
