A better world. A considerate talk, good grooming, excellent clothes. Two intelligent role models. This is needed today.

We are born, raised & proud to call Gene Pitney the "Rockville Rocket". He was a very kind, down to earth person, who always had time for you. Carl Slicer, Rockville, CT (9510) 11 Jun 2021.

Gene Pitney is my favorite solo male vocalist of all time. The only pop star to ever be invited to sing at the Oscars in 1960. Then a Royal invitation to sing for the Queen and Royal family... I'd say he attained his goals. He was a huge hit in Italy as well as other countries. An international singer with a voice like no other and so much charm.:o)

I'm truly late in posting this comment. However, I had to make mention of Gene's song that was a big hit although it missed actually being tied to the movie release at the time. Apparently Gene, Burt Bacharach & Hal David had finished the song "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" in time but Paramount had already released the movie early and that was a real shame. The upside was the song still was a BIG hit. Also, there are a few claims as to who was the original artist(s) to release the hit "He's A Rebel". Regardless, Gene was the songwriter.
