I wish I could move there from Canada. If only I was a few years younger. I have been asking about. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the LAND OF COMMON SENSE. Everything you are saying I know is true. I have ALL the respect for these great people. When you are in Russia you ACT like a Russian. They have a very conservative mindset. I would think to try learning the language the alphabet and you are right have your acquaintances speak to you in their language. I just want to go there maybe meet some guys that play hockey , enjoy fishing maybe a little hunting. I have already been to an Orthodox mass and enjoyed it. I find it close to Catholicism. They devote their prayers as well to our Lady Mary. I believe the first thing is to just go visit. Thank you for your info brother. God bless you and your beautiful fiancé.

Hi, A Happy New Year to you from Bulgaria!! I'm an Irishman living in Bulgaria for over a decade now. Cyrillic is easy to learn, the alphabet I'm talking about. It's very phonetic. My Bulgarian isn't great, my partner is Bulgarian but speaks perfect English, so like your situation we communicate in English all the time. I can read in Bulgarian, but don't understand what I'm reading!!!!! What I've learned from books, CDs is not what you hear on the streets!! And my Dublin accent kills Bulgarian!!! Yet it's great fun most of the time. Best of luck to you with you move to Russia!!

I am a Texan living in Vladivostok Russia for the last 4 years. Love it here. I have the same problem as you with the Russian language. But the Russian people are very forgiving that I butcher their language but they are very happy that at least I try to speak Russian.
@i8Hardcore

The main problem is with grammar. English has a clear word order and a lot of tenses to convey the essence. In Russian, words are instead modified (prefixes, suffixes and endings) and word order can also vary. Polish, for example, uses the Latin alphabet, but this is unlikely to help. The grammar is almost identical to Russian.
@Vanjasper

@@i8Hardcore I don't know about Russian grammar, but Bulgarian grammar is a pure minefield. My GF has a talent for langauges, English, Russian, Italian she has fluently. As a US Navy veteran you have inspired me to visit Russia brother. I really respect what they stand for and you have opened a huge window into what their culture is really about for so many of us Americans. Their values align much more with my own compared to the morally bankrupt circus act that has become the USA. I will be starting my expat journey in the Balkans next week. I would’ve applied for my Russian visa but the only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger is the receiving US money situation. I live off my 100% disability which I know would go very far out there. I’ve heard about the bank you mentioned but is there a way possible that I would be able to transfer funds monthly from my US bank account to it? It seems unless you have physical cash there is no way to move money into the Russian account. Please correct me if I’m wrong because I would love to live there

Visa and Mastercard payment systems do not work in Russia, but the Chinese UnionPay does. However, there are some restrictions for banks on the sanctions list. Thus, you need a bank in the USA that supports the UnionPay payment system and a bank in Russia that is not on the sanctions list that supports the UnionPay and Mir payment systems. For example: Bank of China (UnionPay)-> Raiffeisen (UnionPay+Mir). Prices in Russia are about four times lower than in the United States, but salaries are four times lower. Getting income in the USA and spending it in Russia is a good idea. Nevertheless, there are difficulties for an American to obtain a residence permit in Russia. It might be a good idea to move to Bulgaria. In this case, fanatics will not accuse you of receiving money from Putin.

@@mikem9892 There are big incomes and big expenses in the USA. If you are retired and have a passive income, then you should consider moving to a country with low incomes and low expenses. Daniel you said it right. Having a Russian soul! I agree, first come to see, open your eyes and mind, adjust and if you cannot adjust , that staying in USA is better option . It still is a land where you can do whatever the hell you want, showing even your freak flag(you know what I mean). I wish you all the best, I am here watching . Regards to you and your Ksenia from Jana

@@Wild-Siberia Bravo, Daniel.

@WildSiberian congratulations on the first year anniversary of your KZitem channel! Super impressive! Hey, I have one suggestion and one question for you: 1) Question: you mentioned that you are in Mexico, among other things, to arrange paperwork to help Ksenia acquire Mexican citizenship. Would you mind sharing the details about this? How to get this done? My wife is Russian and we live abroad, and it would be very useful for her to process her Mexican citizen as well. We just haven’t been able to understand if it’s necessary for her to reside in Mexico for two years. It would be great to hear your experience! 🙏 2) Suggestion: while you’re in Mexico, record content there rather than spending much time to record more Q&A sessions. It’s OK to have periods of “rest” as long as your investing your time in preparing content. Also, spend time with your mom since she will miss you immensely! All the best guys, my wife and I support your channel 100%. We love what you and Kseniia are building.

Fascinating video brother. I want to visit Russia soon. I'm a digital nomad from the UK and have been working remotely for a few years. I converted to Orthodox Christianity while living in North Macedonia last year. I found the countries I resonated with the most were Romania, North Macedonia and Turkey. It is kind of intimidating with a hot war on between Nato and Russia.
