They are great dogs for any task I have for the day, they come with me to hike, jog, sprint etc. they can play tug or jump on the flirt pole for an hour or even longer sometimes, they’re both great at agility and we climb around playgrounds when we can’t get to the agility park. Every day we do some fort of activity after work and they are extremely affectionate at night when it’s not time to work anymore. I have a American pitbull terrier he is my self trained service dog for my PTSD and Social anxiety. He is the best dog in the world but the other day when I was in Walmart this guy came up to me and said "That dog should be killed" and my pit alerted me because I was about to pass out because that guy said what he said. Just before I passed out a manager came up to me and said you need to leave and I was confused and I asked why and she said because your fake service dog is growling and lunging at people. After that I passed out for a few minutes and when I wake up my dog wasn't there and police officers were surrounding me I didn't know what was going on and the police officers said mam your dog was taken by animal control and I asked for what and they said apparently he was growling and lunging at this guy and I said what guy and the police officers pointed at the guy that said my dog should be killed and I told them the whole story and what the guy had said prior to me passing out and told them you should not be touching my service dog when I am passed out. The officers told me that they didn't think my service dog was aggressive at all because when they got there and I was passed out he did block them away but was laying on me and when they used the catch pole to get him off of me and bring him to the animal control vehicle he was waging is tail and acting excited I just got my dog back yesterday because they said they had to quarantine him and to make sure he wasn't really aggressive. But in the end they didn't obey the law because they messed with my dog while I was unconscious while he was doing his task. But best breed ever

He helps me with my balance and never leaves my side. We were God this breed wouldn't make a good service dog because they're too aggressive etc. Raven proved them wrong and passed all exams with flying colors. The examiner couldn't believe how good he was. The exam took place in a local store to see how they respond in public and if things will distract them. He didn't miss a beat. The examiner admitted it's more fear about the breed than anything. The training to be a service dog is intense and pits are very intelligent dogs. People need to stop abusing them making them into mean dogs for fighting etc. They're a very loving and loyal dog.

One time my brother turned around for barely a minute while he was making a chocolate cheesecake and when he turned around my dog had eaten the entire thing. Again, we took her to the vet, but there were absolutely no issues. No vomiting, no diarrhea, nothing. You don’t want to “lesson” the animal aggression if you want a dog that hunts well

Why do you say that? Real hunting dogs are usually very friendly to other dogs. Most hunting breeds were kept in packs, so getting along with other dogs was essential.
@Swell_Character
4 жыл бұрын
@@emmamemma4162 Well, the pit bulldog is a different kind of hunting dog. They are catch dogs/gripping dogs. These are the dogs that go in to subdue and fight hogs and whatnot, so animal aggression is, at the very least, an understandable trait. Catch dogs, while not necessarily mean to other dogs, may not get along all that well with other dogs and are not exactly expected to. They are the dogs that hunters keep with them and only let go when something has been found for them to grip and hold. When it is time for them to get hold of a hog or something, they usually go straight for the wild critter and not any of the other dogs.
@AllAhabNoMoby
4 жыл бұрын
@@emmamemma4162 Most 'hunting dogs' aren't actually hunting dogs, they assist the (human) hunter, by driving, retrieving, herding, tracking. They don't catch prey themselves. For a dog to see through an attack on a wild boar requires an entirely different character. Not many dogs can do that.

American Pitbull terrier is an American dog. And they do not make great guard dogs, because they've specifically bred to be non-human aggressive. Do you have an American Bulldog breed review in the works? I appreciate the videos that you already feature them in, but this is a clear and concise presentation! Well done

I see comments from some people that their apbt was not a good guard dog,well my Pitbull cujo would be on a person asap!He protected our home against anything &anyone. By far the APBT was the best dog breed I've ever owned. Cujo lived to be 15 years old I had him since birth I was in highschool in 1984 .Dad bred quality dogs from the age of 18 -32 ad a good life with my BEST FRIEND cujo.

Something to add. There is a research that suggests the terrier term in the American pit bull terrier it's not because they come from terriers ancestors, nor they come from English ancestors. Its because the word "Terrier" comes from the Latin for "Earth" as they were used for killing invasive animals living underground. Although there no detailed written records of the origins of the breed, researchers have tracked Pitbull origins all the way back to the Spanish national dog "Alano" since the dates of the conquer in America based on books, paintings, poems, etc written in those years. The Alano dog is the ancestor of the Cane Corso, Presa Canario, etc. There is a very interesting paper on this based on serious research, if someone is interested in it let me know.

@@VURGINN the fact that you said "huh" tells me you don't know about this breed at all. He asked a very common question among authentic pitbull owners. If you don't know your dogs bloodline, it's probably not a pitbull.

I like pitbulls. 30 of my 60 years have seen only pits as my breed of choice. But... The amount of time and effort required to train, exercise, and socialize this breed, and produce a well rounded and trustworthy adult animal is extreme. This is not a breed you can teach NO and SIT to, and expect no problems. Some specimens are going to be fine but some will not, especially if there are two dogs involved. With, as this video makes clear, the appropriate training? There's no more awesome a canine companion. Those who are irresponsible in forging behavior and remiss in providing exercise and attention? Those humans are responsible for this breed's negative stigma, and the attacks that can occur. All that said? My current 3 year old is a mix. Pit and bull mastiff! She's only 50 pounds and has a severely diminished ranking instinct which, curbed most of her aggression instinct. Relentless, defiant, stubborn, and of boundless energy! That mix produced the most gentle, loyal, obedient and eager to please, and trustworthy dog I've had since my Sheppard Lab mix, I had when I was 14. Still, requiring countless hours to be controllable off leash. I live rural BTW. She also has only one heat a year that comes on her birthday, barely sheds and doesn't drool... And my chickens and my cat are unmolested by her. It's a popular mix in Britain. "Bullmastiff/Staffy" Thank you for the awesome video. Liked, shared, and all adds allowed to play thru for your algorithms and suggested video status. Have a great day! 👍
