Family acknowledgement is very important here in SA, In black communities u even have to go ask the father and her uncles where u even pay a bride price
@Jurnalist_
2 жыл бұрын
My comment is really focused on American culture. I would have to have a real discussion with my women if she was African and was raised to believe she should get a bride price for her. Culturally this is in stark contrast to how we find partners and date in America. The closest we have is asking the father but that’s not really done anymore. So to hear not only dad uncles and a bride price is wild. 💆🏾♂️
@ce666isa3
2 жыл бұрын
@@Jurnalist_ 😂😂😂😂 yah it’s crazy but the pride price is more of a thank you to the father n her family and an appreciation on the grooms side We got different cultures I guess l ike for me it’s wild that u wouldn’t even talk with the father I mean u changing this woman’s surname 😅 I guess it’s just what used to I feel like ud have to at least have a sit down with the father n the mother to state ur intentions
@Jurnalist_

@@ce666isa3 yea the culture in America says that bride price is really her being treated like property not a person. Culturally I get it back in the day but to do it in modern times seems wild to my brain. Yea she’s getting my surname so why would I start discussing what happens under my surname with someone who will not share it nor carry it ? That’s how I see it. I would think my intentions would be clear by the way I dated your daughter. But again that’s an American perspective. That’s why I say I would need to have the conversation first with my woman as I’m only willing to budge on what she seems necessary other wise culturally I’m taught I don’t have to nor should I respect those customs as my love of her should be what is most important.

I agree with you about YoungstaCPT not using the colored accent on this one like he normally does on his joints. YoungstaCPT is capable of switching accents too. You should hear him on a Drill joint titled "Tekky" (Snickers) that he just dropped with Raf Don, YoungstaCPT rapped so well with the UK accent that you would think he was from the UK.

I'm just glad I wasn't just having a stroke. Like all I've heard from the OG was in that "Colored Accent" also that is the proper name you guys use for that accent and Afrikaans is more the Dutch version ? Instant classic he has a jacket of my fav American football team. I don't even need to play it to know its fire.😂🤷🏾♂️

Lol the accent that you think he makes is actually how coloured people sound and how he naturally speaks, so you could rather say he changed his real accent on this song to sound different

So if you had a child , you wouldn’t want the man to come up to you and ask you for your blessing ?
@Jurnalist_
2 жыл бұрын
No I wouldn’t honestly. If you plan to be the man then be the man. If you and my kids are to make unions and survive with each other my input or approval is not needed. Long as she’s happy and not being abused why is my pride as a father more important than that partnership? People put too much stock in these things when really the partner you pick is your rib. Did you ask anyone for your ribs or you just had them? 🤷🏾♂️I hope that makes sense. Again I love family but the Union of two is paramount over everything else
