Back in around 2006 or 2007 there was a radio program in the U.K. on Radio 4. I can’t remember what it was called, but it was a spoof phone-in show. Each week would have a theme and a variety of comedians would play ‘ordinary’ people calling in with their views on that given theme. Harry Enfield played a character with a dog barking in the background and he’d never finish what he was saying because he was constantly shouting “shut it” at the dog. I suspect that was the forerunner of Paul’s character in this.

Benefits = the old name for unemployment money. Also used to be referred to as "The dole" (Dole is an old english word meaning your allotted share/portion of something) or "Your Giro" as in Girobank cheque. Nowadays its called Universal credit. This type of folk is known as a "Chav" which stands for "Council housed and violent" they usually wear burberry clothing (or addidas track suites) a big gold chain (to give the impression they are well off) and own a stafforshire bull terrier (with a spikey collar) You can usually find them hanging around the town center drinking cheap piss beer and causing mayhem.

That dog is a little Staffordshire Bull Terrier (aka a staffy), beautiful little dogs and as soft as shit. I had one years ago crossed with a pit bull, she was a horrible snob who would tip toe around dog poop and didn't like grass tickling her lady parts when having a wee, she didn't like people looking whilst doing her business it upset her karma. The best dog I ever owned was a staffy x jack russell (think jack russell on steroids). They have a bit of a rep as they were originally fighting dogs and used for bull baiting, honestly there has been a few incidents with them but generally they're big old soppies. I have scaled down to a little patterjack now, she is fiercer than any staffy I've ever owned or met and keeps humping my husband😅

Owned dogs for 35+ years and boarded over 250 dogs while owners were away and only had 5 incidents(all with my own dogs) and out of the 200 Breeds ,they were all with the same breed starting with "S" and ending with "shire". Odds ,at random of all 5 being that same breed are ,roughly, 320 BILLION TO ONE....
