I'd love to see you react to Henry's main partner in crime those days; Dennis Bergkamp. That man was 6'2 with the lightest feet and most delicate touch you could ever imagine. Scored almost exclusivey beauties, and has the 6th most assists in PL history. Henry always names him among his best teammates, together with Messi & Zizou... As a pundit once said; "if he played in the snow he wouldn't leave footprints". My personal favorite player of all time.

Thierry Henry is my favourite non-Villa player. That combination of blistering pace and speed, skills on the ball and lethal finishing. A lot of great players have one of those attributes - not many have all three. I remember him getting a lot of criticism in his first season at Arsenal, because Wenger converted him from a winger to a striker - and people were like "This guy is clearly not a natural goalscorer!" - but they soon shut up lol

7:20 assists? Oh dont worry, Henry could do that very well too. He has the record for the most assists in a Premier League season (20), a record unbroken since 2002/03. Kevin de Bruyne is the only player who was able to equal him, 17 years later. Henry is also the only player to have 20+ goals AND 20+ assists in a single PL season. Also, in the PL's current 20 team format, Henry holds the record for most combined G&A in a season with 44, equalled only by Haaland last season. He was a phenomenal goalscorer yes, but there was much more to his game than that.

The real reason why u train keepy uppies are to get to know the balls every "corner" and have a better "relatonship" with it. A better sense of ball so to say. It does translate to being better as at dribbling because of that, but not to do keepy uppies on the field (which is now forbidden in some leagues for "safety of players" reason). Love ur vids, keep up the good work

That skill you talked about where you place the foot on top of the ball is definitely very daunting as a beginner. I fell once or twice when I first started out doing it lol. The technique though is to use one leg as your primary support, then lightly but firmly place your opposite foot over the ball. It feels counter-intuitive because you normally want to balance your body weight on both your feet, whereas this technique requires you to only balance on one. That's what allows you to manipulate the ball much more freely with your foot. Takes practice for sure.
@jacksmith4460
14 күн бұрын
This might sound odd, but practice standing on one leg (the opposite leg that you kick with) Get used to having your weight on one leg and your kicking foot, think of it almost like an arm, you want to be able to move it in various ways whilst remaining stood on one leg. So all the weight is on the standing leg but you other leg can "feel" around or kick or trap whatever, but practice that dexterity and it will help you with standing on the ball etc, you have to learn how to plant your weight with 1 leg

The "stop on a dime" is actually something you can accomplish. It's obviously more challenging to do it in a game against professionals. So, we just call it a pirouette. That moment you're scared of means you're doing it wrong. The aim is not to put all of your weight on the ball. Yes, you need to apply some downwards pressure as you turn. But, your horizontal momentum is the key motion in this trick. Try to think of Jack Be Nimble. Imagine you're jumping over a candlestick. You mustn't stop or you'll be stepping on the flame. However, with the football, you're touching the ball with your foot so that you can then drag it in the new direction you want to head in.

6:40 Goalkeepers move out from their position to close the angle of the shot from the opponent, it decreases the chance of a goal also very important to do that if the opponent has very little time to think about the shot, so they will not have the best accuracy, closing the angles is the key to save it like yesterday how Son was under pressure to make the shot against Ortega who was way out of his line and made a really important save 😉

40yr old Arsenal fan here, I can verify that Thierry was as good as it gets in his prime. I made a very decent amount of money betting on Henry to score first every week of the 2001-02 season. He did it about 50% of the matches. The reason you don't hear him in GOAT discussions more often is because his prime was comparatively short when set against the insane longevity of Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo. Henry was unquestionably the best player in the world for about 6 years between 2000-06. Don't get me wrong, he was very good prior to hitting peak & still very good after it (his Barca run is underrated) but it doesn't really compare to Leo & CR7. I'll always remember the 2002 world cup, going in Henry was without a doubt the best player in the world. He was a Premier league & FA cup double winner with Arsenal, France were the defending world cup champs & then he ended up getting sent off about 30 minutes into the opening game of the tourney versus Senegal. France lost that game 1-0, got knocked out at the group stage & Henry didn't even get to play again in the tourney because of the red card. Ruined absolutely everybody's fantasy teams !!!

Bra. Saying Henry was unquestionably the best in the world from 00 to 06 is not onky the most biased statement I ever heard but also a monumental lie. Henry has 0 ballon d'or and in that period but guys like Figo, Owen, Ronaldo R9, Nedved, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho and Cannavarro won it. Henry wasn't even the best French player in that era because everyone and their mothers know it was Zidane. Furthermore, the statement that he only isn't seen as one of the goats because his prime was shorter than Cr7 and a Messi's is egregious. Henry don't come even close to Ronaldo and Messi. In fact, young Ronaldo wins the ballon d'or playing in England against Henry in his prime. CR was better at age 23 than Henry had ever been in his life. TH deserved a Ballon D'or indeed but he was far from being thr best in those years. Ronaldinho was the best of them all and won 2 fifa player of the year and 1 Ballon d'or during that time. So please, chill.

Don´t step on the ball while turning... that is high level balance stuff...if you aren´t trained in being fully balanced in weight displacement you might break your ankle...So don´t even try it ...Saw that so many times, when people were doing that and for whatever reason got out of balance and as automatic body response shifted their weight on the foot which was currently steping on the ball and their ankle bended sidewards..if the ankle doesn´t break then you will get a tremdendous ligament injury at your ankle instead..It´s simply not worth it According to Henry his touch on the ball was mindblowing the ball is always very close to the feet (as if the ball is invisibly short distance chained on his foot) even in high speed therefore with every step he can instantly change the direction of the ball with both feet while running full speed.
