I saw a video where a 13 year old was NOT allowed by the lottery, but he got a gun from a gunstore. Is it any wonder why there is so many school shootings.

Enjoyed this vid 🇬🇧 ... I recon I got more chance of winning the lottery than getting shot in UK! .... I don't know one person who has a gun or has had a gun apart from a shotgun to shoot pheasants ...and I'm 70! and was with the military all my working life since 1976

In the U.S., authorities will spend $500 million on resources to deter homeless people, when they could provide housing for them for a fraction of $500 million. But then, all of a sudden, homeless people become people, and that goes completely against the American belief that homeless people are nothing more than worthless trash.

My wife is American, and moved to live with me in Sweden in 2016. One of the first things she noticed that kids were out playing or walking to school unattended, and that if she went downtown, she could see 2-3 12 years old girls out shopping. She was so used to "stranger danger!" that it blew her mind.

Awww did I just hear you say you’ve got a child on the way? I didn’t know that - I haven’t watched your videos for a month or so so must have missed the announcement. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!! With the flashing lights on shoes it is something I would never even think about here. It’s the same as with another couple I watch who said they had to make the decision to not put beads on the ends of her braids as the noise would make her a target. I can’t imagine having to live in a country where that kind of thing happens. We did have our school locked down recently as a couple of ex pupils jumped the fence and came into the school from the back field. They punched a teacher because they were going for a kid they didn’t like and the teacher stood between them. They then ran away. That’s the worst incident we have ever had here and apparently there were so many police there for hours after. Can you imagine that even sparking much of a response in America with how their schools are. I can’t imagine my kids having to go through metal detectors to get into school either.

On the same trip to Murica, one of the Machine Operators suggested that I went "Bowling with The Guys" on Wednesday night, which was kind of him. I enquired as to the protocol of the evening, as I had made the mistake years earlier on an Italian work trip, of equating a "Boys night out" in Italy, to a lads mad night out in London, definitely not the same thing! Anyway, he had obviously been thinking about it because he said "Don't worry about money, we will cover you!". Another nice thought but I said that I had plenty of Dollars but thanks for the offer. Oh, wait for it... Hold... Hold... "Oh, so you use Dollars in the UK?"... No, we use Pounds Sterling... two confused looks screwed up into one.... Pounds... what... like a weight? ... No, the pound, Notes with the Queens head on. So how have you got Dollars then?... bless his little cotton socks... I exchanged them.... another tortured look... I asked my bank in England to take pounds out of my Bank Account and give the equivalant Dollars to me, so, in effect, I gave them my pounds and they gave me your Dollars! I explained that the pound was stronger than the Dollar (pre Black Wednesday, check out 'kin George SOROS) and that I gave them £1 and they gave me nearly $2..... WAIT... wait... hold....hold... so when do you get your Pounds back? I had to explain that I could spend all of my Dollars and all the cents and I would never see my pounds again! I think I broke him with this news! Anyway the nights bowling went well, I kept buying "Rounds", which was unusual for most but well received. Someone mentioned the amount of alcohol that I was drinking and I said "Yes, I'm sorry but I am the designated driver, so I am taking it easy!" Stagger, miss the table.. stagger more... catch myself.. start fumbling for my car keys.... ask, with a drunken slur, how long does it take to drive to Chicago... I am positive he thought that I was serious....

I'm a retired Canuck who hired many US companies. I worked in heavy industrial/technical. The workers I brought in from around the world asked more and more questions as they became comfortable. Questions like: You get paid leave for both parents for every birth ... yes 12-months split between parents. Child care expenses are fully deductible, yes, Everyone gets paid vacation, yup. Everyone gets medical care for free, aha. The benefits of living in Canada are extensive.

In the late 80's, I went for 2 weeks, from London to Milwaukee. My job was to put a Murican made machine through it's paces and find weak points in its build and design flaws. As soon as a young lady heard me talk, she kept telling me that I sounded "just like the beatles". I pointed out that I sound absolutely nothing like the Beatles and explained that they were from Liverpool with strong Scouse accents and I am a Cockney with a very strong Cockney accent from South East London! She was adamant that I was wrong and she was right, nothing I said would change her mind, even when I lost the "nice guy act" and told her that she, herself, admits to never having been out of Milwaukee and never have met a Cockney before, she said that she had never met a a Brit before, I pointed out that although I am from the UK, so therefore from part of Great Britain, I was in fact English and was born and bred 215 miles and probably at least 10 accents away from Liverpool! Nope, not having it, she knew best! She then preceeded to tell me every work day for 2 weeks that "You do sound jus like da bellals" Love, you can't even speak English, so how have you become such an expert!

Germany, the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, all with very different models of social security, healthcare and other so-called 'benefits' (which we Germans, British, Irish and Dutch refer to as 'rights'), and of funding public services, all spend, as governments, LESS per capita on their population than does the USA. This means you could implement some or any part of those country's models, or design/adapt one for yourself, and have money left over. Given the amount the USA already spends on its population, if it was spent it in the same way as many other developed nations, you could have economically-priced university education, universal healthcare which is free or affordable at point of use, a reasonable income for all your elderly folk, and useful public transport in many places. You could do all this and have money left over, with the same spending on your military-industrial complex. Economics are not stopping you. Apathy and fear is. Get angry, get organised, get unionised - and get going out of the stranglehold in which you're being held.

On armed police, here in N Ireland the majority of PSNI are armed. Situation with N Ireland is a little different though with the troubles. It's only over the last 10yrs or so they've been really phazing out the armoured Landrovers for more "normal" patrol vehicles. Also worth mentioning though last time a suspect was shot by PSNI was 2011.

10 days vacation … everyone? Surely only the plebes, not the execs? I had an experience when I was a teen and was sitting with my back to the entry in a restaurant. Two young men started a fight and careened into me knocking me to the floor and ever since I always find a table away from the entrance and take a chair with my back to a wall, but that’s the only thing I worry about. I can’t imagine the mental stress that Americans live with, worrying about a nutter killing children .. with military type weapons, because, it’s a nearly non-existent threat in most modern countries in the World. I remember seeing a banner for the Brady Campaign listing gun fatalities in different countries and the numbers were, I thought, bad as they reached a couple of hundred (can’t remember which country) until the US numbers jumped to nearly 10K. I don’t know what the answer to this is, but if we look at the American Western frontier towns back in the day, they brought in strict gun control and people seemed to go about their lives in a safer way and although they may have had a gun at home, they wouldn’t have worried about sending their children to school.

Thanks for this video and on the subject of gun crime, if you have time, look up the Dunblane Massacre and its effect on UK gun laws. There was a similar incident in Australia, I'm afraid I can't remember the place where it occurred but it had a similar effect there.

You will regain a feeling of normality though, over time, just as the 2nd child arrives ! Seriously, though,I wish you could get out of the asylum that is the US. A society that IS normal & helpful to the family unit, particularly your children,as they are your future. You now will owe them a future for bringing them into the present, now, before it's too late.
