In Australia we have booze buses…it’s a whole police department dedicated to catching drunk drivers. They will shut off a lane & guide you through where they may randomly alcohol & drug test you or they may test everyone…you will have to do a breath test for alcohol & a swab test for drugs. Any positive test & you’ll have to go into the bus for further testing…if you register again you’ll go to the station for further testing under arrest. Your car will be parked up & you’ll have to collect it the next day. If you refuse the test you will be charged as if you registered the highest amount & will be fined & suspended from driving for that time…

Everyone parallel parks unless they park at an angle, then it's called angle parking. You don't always reverse park in particular, when you're able to drive straight into the parallel park position, otherwise it is reverse parking. Police in NSW very rarely stop people just to check their licence and registration. All police vehicles are equipped with computers that check all registration plates, so if you are driving an unregistered vehicle, they've got you before you stop. Nobody can register any vehicle without first obtaining insurance. Yes, there are some strange place names in Australia like, Gympie, Grong Grong, Yourkey's Knob, Bong Bong, Come-by- Chance, Cockburn, Diapur, Humpybong and a good one, Nowhere Else, in Tasmania & SA.

We dont do sobriety tests, we just blow or talk into the breathalyser. If ur over the limit u go back to the station to verify via another breathalyser or if its RDT (random drug test) then u are given a blood test. Results come back about 6 weeks after.
@NETFREIGHTSERVICESQUEENSLAND
Жыл бұрын
Answer for you guys An Australian police breathalyzer helps determine people’s ability to drive after consuming alcohol. Driving under the influence of alcohol is a prevalent safety issue in many countries. It has resulted in thousands of casualties or fatalities on the road every day. Therefore, law enforcement personnel administer alcohol breath testing randomly or at checkpoints to keep the roadways safe. Law enforcement uses breathalyzers for roadside screenings to determine the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) reliably of potentially intoxicated drivers. A police breathalyzer is a portable device that analyses a breath sample to determine the BAC the same way products from Breathalysers Australia do. If your BAC exceeds the legal limit of 0.05 per cent, you will face legal charges and penalties. The police breathalyzers are robust and portable, with the most modern sensors for measuring BAC levels, similar technology is found in BACtrack products from Breathalysers Australia. High BAC levels can impair a person’s senses, perception, and motor function. These impairments then affect driving ability. Thus, Law enforcement patrols Australian highways frequently to ensure that all motorists can have a safe journey. They use police-grade breathalyzers to determine a person’s BAC. The most advanced breathalyzer sensor that an Australian police breathalyzer uses is fuel cell sensors technology. Breathalysers Australia sells devices that have the same sensors as police breathalyzers. Moreover, they also supply BACtrack breathalyzers catered to individuals and workplaces. These devices can drastically help with personal and workplace safety. How Do Australian Police Breathalyzers Work? When police suspect a person is driving whilst intoxicated, they will ask the driver to pull over and undertake sobriety tests, which will most likely be blowing into a breathalyzer device. An Australian police breathalyzer with fuel cell sensor technology helps determine the BAC level properly. When the sample breath goes to the sensors, it undergoes an electrochemical process that oxidizes the alcohol. The device then generates tiny electrical currents proportional to the amount of alcohol in the breath and converts it to BAC. The greater the BAC level, the stronger the currents generated. In addition, the fuel cell sensor breathalyzers are ethyl alcohol-specific and will not react with other substances. Therefore, they have a lower chance of producing false positives. Breathalyser Australia have an entire range of Breathalysers with police grade fuel cell technology.

Australia has just the one charge… DUI. But depending on by how much you are over the limit, the penalty increases. Low range over - you can’t drive for 12-24 hrs and will be issued a fine and penalty points. But once you get to double the limit (0.05 is Australian limit) you lose your licence on the stop (they will confiscate it) for up to 2 years. If you refuse to be tested, you will lose your licence at the top penalty.

Reverse parallel or parallel parking are used here too. Courts can order the fitting of an interlock device to a pisspot’s car. They have to blow into it to activate the ignition. If you blow into and fail it notifies RMS (the responsible authority in NSW) and then you are in a new world of pain. PCA is the charge in NSW - Prescribe Content of Alcohol. You must wave when you cut in - that is immediate dispensation of guilt.

DWI and DUI are not the same. Some states in USA only have one and others have both. DUI means that someone is driving and they are over the legal limit of alcohol. DWI means you are flat out wasted and drunk and way way over the limit. States are all different and different limits. And the whole walk the line preliminary tests happen as well and complicate things a lot. But in Australia we get a lot of American TV Shows and movies. So ive seen plenty of shows like ‘Cops’ and i follow two US lawyers on KZitem. And every state is different and has its won laws and rules. But yes they are not the same.
