Hi guys, Bathurst celebrates 60 years of racing this year and no there hasn't been a year without crashes, in a 6-7 hour race with both full-time and part-time drivers there's always going to be a crash or seven. If you want to watch it you can live stream on Kayo, Foxtel or channel 7 in Australia 🇦🇺

In 2017 they almost did it. They got 6 hours in and made it to lap 144 before there was a serious incident.

@ 8:59 he was trying to get onto the SLOW side of the track & out of the racing line .. but the car behind him started to head for the slow side so he tried to get out of the way, then the car behind changed his mind.. so you can't blame the damaged car .. as we say SH&T happens...

Every single Bathurst there's at least one crash and usually at least one mechanical issue for at least one car. It's also not uncommon for drivers to run into issues like dehydration. I don't believe any of the crashes in the video had deaths, but definitely some injuries, including the first, where the driver broke his leg, and one of the marshalls were injured as well, from memory. The one at The Chase where the car rolled multiple times... there's a longer shot of it, and the driver literally just opens the door and hops out, walking off the track.

The last death was Mark Porter in 2006. There has been 17 fatal accidents recorded on Mt panorama under race conditions. No doubt a few more as a public road.

the no.15 that goes into the wall actually had a harder hit cause he didnt have the cushioning of the tires, he went straight into the bank, these are also RHD, so it would of been way more painful for the driver that he hit the right side first

That was enjoyable...perhaps you should now watch and enjoy the Isle of Mann TT. A motorcycle time trial held on the public roads of the Isle of Mann. It has been held since 1907 and is known as the most dangerous race in the world due to around 270 riders and spectators have been killed on the course. 155 during the TT itself and the others during other races The circuit is public roads all the way through towns and country side so gutters, stone fences, barbed wire and people on the footpaths. Average speed is around 138 mph. The lap record is held by Peter Hickman 16m 36.114s - 136.358 mph around the 38 mile circuit. Top speed recorded is around 230 mph. There are many many you tube vids. Some feature speed, some accidents and some are documentary style. EG a guy is sitting at the side of the road and a bike whizzes past him at 200 mph less then a yard from him...

The worst or best crash was in 1971 when Bill Brown crashed, rolled and destroyed his XY ( model ) 351 GTHO PHASE 3 along a safety barrier at about 100 miles/hour. It rolled along the cabin area on the barrier He got out and later drove himself home. There is film of it but its in black and white and it shows this ton and a half of a ford almost being cut in half. Google bill brown 1971 bathurst crash.

The fact the Mostert crash didn't kill any marshals due to them being behing a safty structure shows how good Australian racing regulations are. Also Mostert breaking his femur in the crash caused them to redesign the car to make it even safer.

There is no such thing as a Bathurst race where there was no accidents, Also the bit where you thought the Grate was involved, so not the same part of the track, the Grate is at the top of the track, this section was at the bottom of the main straight. Also Mount Panorama is a public road so any time there is not a race there, you can drive it yourself, but be warned, it is a public road with public road speed limits and the PoPo do like to patrol and issue tickets.

Hey Guys. New to your channel. Loving what I have seen so far. Went and watched NRL State of Origin Reactions from last year, Shane Warne Teaches Spin Bowling Reaction, and now this. I am helping run an Aussie Sports KZitem Channel (very small atm, about to hit 3K) called TJC Sports. We do mostly NRL Streams but i will be doing a few streams for Bathurst this year and more and this week is my first stream as I am just a helper on this channel. Any advice for me for the stream? And any possibility of a shout out for TJC Sports? If not, It's all good. I Understand. Loving your reactions though guys. Keep up the good work.

Its nearly Bathurst time boys... Dates: Thu, 5 Oct 2023 - Sun, 8 Oct 2023 our time.. So Wed 6th in the PM to Sat 7th PM for you.. 12:30 You can "redress" if you didnt obtain an advantage (in sevewral foirms of racing).. but you have to enter the racetrack safely.. So yeah that was a fail haha 13:00 Yes Sir, thats the Grate right there.. So cool you are learnming the parts of this amazing track.. DONT TOUCH THE GRATE! Price.. between $650,000 and $700K + (plus operating costs). I cant think of a Bathurst there wasnt a crash, kinda impossible over 6 or more hours.. Surporisingly after all those crashes, very few people had any kind of serious injuries.. These cars are built pretty safe.. but Bathurst is a risky track... people have lost their lives over the years..
