1. Umi/ Ummi is loan word from arabic meaning mom. Pembaris is malay for measuring ruler. Umi Pembaris is loosely referencing to tiger mom. 2. The white car is a KE10 Toyota Corolla and the last is the recently launched Corolla Cross. Corolla Cross is smaller than RAV4 and FWD. It is rumored to be introduced in USA this coming June 2021. 3. Adat dan budaya, Mengeratkan kita. Yang baharu kita turuti, Yang lama jangan dilupai. Walau Raya mungkin berbeza, Yang penting kita tetap bersama. Custom and culture strengthen our bond. New ones we adhere, to the old shall not not be forgotten. Raya celebration may be different, The important thing is that we stay together.

A joke you missed: 6:09 "PASANG" has 2 meanings; "pair" and "put up". The mother said "ada hati ke nak PASANG lagi", in this context she meant "marry another" because the father wore his SAMPIN (pronounced "sum-peen") in a style for single men. The child misunderstood the other "pasang" and thought his mother wanted to "put up the curtains". In Malaysia we have lots of terms to address "mom". Ibu (standard malay), Emak/mak (spoken malay), Umi (arabic), Amma (indian), mama, mummy, etc. "Amboi" is an expression equivalent to "Wow"

Umi Pembaris = my mother is like a ruler. Roughly it meant "my mother being so perfectionist". A ruler is straight. So, kind of she follows the rule wholeheartedly, everything has to be perfect when come to adapt the tradition. So, her children can pass the tradition to their next generation. Due to her strict upbringing method, the children managed to upheld the values even after her death. They didn't like it in the beginning but once they have their own family, successful (as shown with their big house and car), they knew now what was their mother early intentions. The mother is futuristic really. Every nation has their own beautiful tradition. If we don't embrace the value, we will be forgotten.

It's wore only by the men along with the BAJU MELAYU (Malay robe). There are fictional Malay saying regarding the proper ways to wear them (it's more like a joke). Men whom are still unmarried, wear them above the knee part...while, married men 'should' wear them below the knee level - it's to indicate that you're someone husband's or already owned by some other girl. If you're married and wore/styling them like an unmarried one -- people would jokingly says that you're are up to no good >> planning to get another wife... Hahaha
