The brackets and the mesh railing really make that walkway a good representation of the real ship.

Yes building 1/350 scale Yamato, those tiny little winches, actually put rope on each one , was a lot of fun 😊😊😊

Have fun! Guido suggested PE mesh instead, so have ordered some. Found a large sheet for half a shekel!

Some good scratchbuilding thar ol' tar...I like the plastic mesh (i.e. from Tamiya) for some applications, but for this I would have used PE mesh - easier to handle for the railing.

Nice improvements Harry. Little but effective. Sure makes the stern much more correct and interesting. I checked my Heller 1/150 version and it does have the balcony with struts, but no mesh (it is a decal, lazy frogs :) ) Short query: Why did you opt for the little scale version and not the bigger 1/150? Greetz, DutchDave.
@HarryHoudiniModels

I didn’t opt… this kit was a Crispness present from a few years back. I received the 1:350 Nippon Maru and Amerigo Vespucci at the same time. So I built the Nippon Maru that holiday break, leaving the more complex Poochi until now. I am tempted to get hold of the 1/150 kit as well for my stash, but Heller ships are hard to find down under.
