Personally, for me, it goes like this (spoiler free): Change > Air > Azula (Earth) > Balance > Ozai (Fire) > Spirits > Zhao (Water) I admit, though, that Azula, Balance and Ozai are very close from each other alltogether, but I like to put "balance" in the middle of it all, as it should be.

15:14 I believe they thought it was permanent because of the spot Amon was using to do it but also because of how his bending disapated as it was happening. When we see chi blocking before this, we see their limbs just go sort of limp or like they lose strength and they cant do much. only time i remember seeing somone really try to bend after being chi blocked in avatar is the first time it happend to Katara and she struggled to move some water and quickly dropped it. When we see it happen to Zolt he was actively lightning bending and we see it downgrade to plain fire before it just disappears, at the very least its looks quite different from the chi blocking you would normally see and warrents being extra cautious until you have more information.

The reason why it doesn't seem like a pressure point thing is that the pressure point thing turns off your muscles, not your bending. But we see with Amon that Zolt can still move around and tries to throw fire like Ozai did at the end, but no fire came out.
@KelappanKing

Yup. I've never seen anyone ( reactors included) who did not get this concept immediately. Interesting.

The reason why Korra and Mako knew that what Amon did is permanent is because he did it in the same position as Aang did to Ozai, it wasn't a couple of punches on his chi points or whatever, he took it away with a touch.
@KelappanKing
Сағат бұрын
A critical concept here, yes. Chi-blockers by now are common knowledge, as evidenced by Mako's relatively casual mention of them (6:56) after the attack. Their abilities would therefore be well known. So Mako's reaction (and Zolt's and everyone else's) to Amon's ability would be driven by the knowledge that it was different and possibly permanent (unlike chi-blocking). I've never seen any fan or reactor not understand this immediately. So it's interesting seeing these guys' different perspective. In summary: 15:01 - there was nothing to cotton on to. Korra hasn't misunderstood or missed anything. At this stage, she and Mako have every reason, as do viewers, to believe it is real. This is not chi-blocking. It is something else. And that scares them.

@@Austin.Kilgore I fully recognize my own bias and that season 2 permanently messed up my perception of Korra. I do have some issues with season 3 and 4 korra as well, but that has to do more with how the writers were treating her. Er I can't get into it without spoiling. Hmmm I'll just say the writers treated her like game designers treated Lara Croft in the last 10 years or so and you might be picking up what I'm putting down. They definitely brought it around for me by the last half of season 4 though.

@@kimkimrock1 Look, I'm not defending this one way or the either definitively. But associating Korra with characters from the past is defiantly something the writes COULD do. Other shows do that kind of thing all the time, have people SOMEHOW coincidentally meet people they have associations to in a sea of all of humanity as if it was fate. Atla and Knora give us actual reason to expect such a thing directly. "Friendships that last more then one lifetime" was all over atla, for Aang as well as people of the past, so someone coming into Korra thinking maybe people are associated is not at all a crazy thing to at least THINK about. (If your being objective, Korra meets someone this season, who uses the exact same voice as a character before, and that character talks about relying on the judgment of that past friendship, like, its literally the kind of thing you are saying would be silly of the writers to do. Just like it would be silly to name a character after the voice actor of one of peoples favorite characters from the previous show, and then wonder why people might think there is a connection. The show if full of homages to itself.) If they were acting like they were, like, complaining that the characters were not related like the writers missed an opportunity or that the show is worse because they didn't, that'd be worth pointing out for being silly. But making predictions and about wondering of they COULD be seems fair on a first watch.
