I could listen to Amor Towles talking all day long. I've never heard anyone explain the creative process better than this.

What a fabulous author talk. Amor is certainly my favourite author at the moment. And thanks to the Internet I can hear him talking in my living room in the UK.

Fascinating remarks about the specifics of The Lincoln Highway and the creative process that was behind it. Amor Towles is a infinitely interesting speaker.

The Bay Area has signposts and references to the Lincoln Highway. I first started wondering about it years ago while visiting the Legion of Honor in SF. This talk is a great blend of literary insight and history. Sometimes I feel Amor Towles is the bonafide English major with a passion for history, and I can relate. That said, apart from his discussions in other videos of outlining and characterization, there seems to be less emphasis on the nuts and bolts of creative writing in his speaking events.

p.s. Fisher would be an interesting subject for a novel. His life runs in that great American “can-do” vein.

Where's the Neurosis? How can one so Organized be Con Amor y Sin Amor? The novelist as an Inverted (Perverted?) Therapist? Hmmm. Actually there was an Eve in Hollywood, but she was born there. Ms Eve Babitz. The location of the lecture gives the audience away. It's a room full of Mid-Life MBA's n' Lawyers experiencing Controlled Breakdowns. Like Martha Stewart on Roller Skates.
