Just about 38 people per square mile live on this gem of an island. Amorgos is most famous for spectacular views from solitary paths leading hikers along steep cliffs above the intensely blue sea (coincidentally, large parts of Luc Besson's cult movie "Le Grand Bleu" were shot here). Featured in the same movie is the glaringly white monastery Panagia Chozoviotissa which is attached to the rock some 300 meters above the ocean. Katapola is a charming seaport with just a few hundred inhabitants and Chora village, 400 meters above, is a maze of tranquil alleys with cosy taverns and a great view of the island...
