I loved this song from the first time I heard it. The story told within it of a woman's love for her children's well-being overriding her love for her racist husband in her choosing to leave him. A story lived out daily by millions in our country no doubt.

For those who travel you see the entire modern world is multicultural. Even Miss Japan is half japanese. People bitterly act like its new but people have migrated since they could walk to the next village & beyond, Man is a wandering star, This song is not about the end of a race, just racism. Hearts shouldn't require expressions like "virtue signaling" in an attempt to stem the flow of their humanity. Propaganda always comes with tribal buzzwords. No one is requiring you to love, but everyones asking you not to hate. (Somebody hears me!) Thank You, Amos. Best Wishes Everyone

I cry for our lost innocence. I will give you a very good reason why you should hate NO ONE. I had chronic hep c from a contaminated blood transfusion, 1976, did not find out until 1996, I was bed ridden for 7 years just too tired to lift my self up, went on transplant list in 2010 and on 9-10-11, I received a young black mans liver. Life is so precious, please stop and think we are All in this together. Wishing every one had the peace of mind I now have, and your song is so very beautiful in such a sad way. I love you Amos come see me I live in a hollow in Wears Valley, ten. I could take you to some really inspiring places to write songs. I have explored these mountains 30 years, I know all the back road and don’t get caught in the tourist things.
