Amos has soul all of us should strive to have. Every time I hear this I think of my late wife, gone far too soon. Thank you, Mr Lee. You have the gift of all gifts - to touch a soul so deep it hurts and feels good at the same time….nothing could be said more of an artist.

I sometimes think "He should be so much bigger!". Then, the very next thought is...." yeah, but the select few of us who really dig him, get to claim him as our own" 😁 The way I see it, some have good ears and some don't. There's nothing we can do to help them. 😂

I’m 53 I was flicking through my 27 year old sons Spotify playlists and I see this song. Firstly - I was shocked to think my son had Amos Lee in his Spotify lists Secondly - I’d never heard of this song … So I clicked … and by the end of the song I was downloading Spotify onto my iPhone and starting my own playlist Thanks son … well played … well played indeed. Amos Lee … this is a great piece of emotional delicious soul food… Well played Amos Well played indeed

He played this in concert. My tears were just flowing out of my eyes. My grandma had just passed and I just let this song and his voice wash over my aching heart. Also, when he is going to be invited for a Tiny Desk concert?! I need that.

Kiri Carini yes! A tiny desk concert is exactly what he needs to do. And...sorry about your loss. Just lost my dad. While a natural progression of life, it still sucks.....a lot....

I'm sorry for both of your lost loved ones. I adore this man. I got to see him perform this one last weekend in Philly. It's especially poignant for me, because he wrote it about losing his 'Grammy', and he gave me his condolences on the street in Philly almost exactly 7 years ago when I lost my Granny. I teared up during the show. Her 81st birthday would have been this April 29th. He has a tremendous, genuine heart and is truly a blessing to all of us who love real music. #PhillyPride

Wish I could give this more than one thumbs up... saw him in concert in Dec of '17. Had been listening to him a lot on KZitem and really liked his music. As soon as he started singing it gave me the chills, such an amazing talent and person. Keep it going Amos!

Such a beautiful emotionally resonant song. This gorgeous solo version is so haunting in it's stark simplicity. The emotions that play across Amos' face is all the more touching because of the backstory for this song. Easily the best song he has ever recorded......

As a person that truly loves your music. I think that maybe you don't realize how much your music is rooted in faith, and by extension you don't realize how much faith you have. Effortless faith is a gift whether you know you have it or not. Countless others struggle with it on a daily basis. Just thought someone should point that out to you.

Absolutely love this and so glad to hear it and see him on the acoustic alone, for a change up.. We see him every single chance we get. Love him live, simply amazing! His voice cuts thru the air. He soumds even better in person. I was literally writing a song with close similarities as far as meaning for my love (different of course) last night amd then to hear this, WOW! Lovers Prayer, Lovers Prayer.... A stark difference between being loved by someone & someone being in love with you. Gratitude remains for each but I have my preference This song nailed it, for me anyways. Hang on.... hang on....

Lyrics : We never left you We never left you that day We never left you Even though we felt far away Couldn't hold you But you didn't wanna be held anyway So hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on 'Cause you already come so far alone We never failed you Even though we might have felt that way We never left you Hurt to see you in so much pain And I would've stayed there forever But it didn't work out that way So hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on When morning comes you won't be here alone Say a lover's prayer, a lover's prayer is all you've known Say a lover's prayer as we're standing there in the shadow stone Say a lover's prayer, a lover's prayer is all we've known Say a lover's prayer Hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on Hang on, hang on When morning comes you won't be here alone When morning comes you won't be here alone When morning comes you won't be here alone Hey
