This song literally describes my feelings from when I had to stop playing violin because of some back injury I had and this song was saving me at the time so much...I found great comfort in it, not only because it talks about violin, metaphorically though, it completely fit into my phase...anyway now it's all better and I can play violin again! The first time that I ever even heard of this singer Amos Lee was when I was staying in this gorgeous mini-mansion on the island of Oahu right on top of this elite hilltop for all of the rich and famous, let's see, the two actors that owned homes up there was: Tom Selleck was one of them, and the other actor living up there is: Kevin Costner. The place I was staying at was the very first house as you begun driving up. The one and only reason I was there, was because my boyfriend's nephew co-owned the property, and my boyfriend was the supervisor and was completely renovating this seven bd-seven humongous walk-in bathrooms, a maids quarters. The entire front of this place upon walking in was all plate glass windows that overlooked the pool area, and beyond that was the ocean!!! So I kinda just wanted to give you all the layout of this dream come true, for a little okey girl from the little town of a 1000 in Tipton, CA LMBOOTYOFF 🤣. Back now to this incredible singer Amos Lee!!! Yes, Amos Lee I guess was just coming on the music scene, and was just beginning to spread his wings. When my boyfriend's nephew came to visit and inspect the property, he brought along a CD of this relatively new singer at the time, (this was in the year of 2006.) We were all getting ready to sit down to this amazing dinner that night, when all of a sudden out of the surround sound system, this angelic voice begun singing. I will never forget the very first song Amos Lee was singing, "In the Arms of a Woman!!" I actually stopped eating and just listened to this absolutely beautiful song. Since then forward to today date of 2021. I now live at the most Northern tip of California. My boyfriend I guess bought a new CD and I was delighted to hear Amos Lees newer CD, and this entire album is THE BOMB!!! My favorite songs on this album are: Violin, Windows are rolled down, and last but surely not least: Flower 🌼, Johnson Blvd, among so many others!!! I LOVE AMOS LEE'S SPECTACULAR SOUND OF MUSIC 🎶🎶🎶

While I was driving school bus, I played this song from my play list over and over again, while the children were not on the bus. I passed a home multiple times a day who had a violin hanging on their porch as a decoration. Years later, listening to this song again, it hits me in the heart.

"Violin" (feat. Sam Beam) Lately I, I've been heading for a breakdown Every time I leave my house Well, it feels just like a shake down Between the street sweepers and the pushers, are the lawyers Who may as well be butchers Between the small timing hustlers who all seem to feed upon each other Oh God why you been Hanging out in that old violin While I've been waiting for you to pull me through Lately I, every time I try to lie down Well, my mind just gets away I can't even close my eyes now Between the big fish ambition and the lovers Using words as ammunition Between the wood planks I've been pacing And this impossible dream that I've been chasing Oh God why you been Hanging out in that old violin While I've been waiting for you to pull me through Oh God Oh God Oh God why you been Hanging out in that old violin While I've been waiting for you to pull me through
