I happen to be white --- and I was in an all black bar on Chicago's south side back in the 70's, and we were talking about TV -- and I mentioned that I missed Amos and Andy since the reruns had been taken off the air. You'd have thought I just said the "n" word ...dead silence! I looked around. Everyone had heard me and they were staring at me. I said, "What? ...What did I say? Something wrong? ..." One guy gave me a look of disgust and went back to his conversation. Another rolled his eyes. The guy I had been talking to said, "Not cool, man." I was really taken aback and tried to explain that I surely meant nothing wrong. It was a comedy, wasn't it? Yeah, they were black and the Kingfish and Andy were portrayed as a couple of dumbbells, but surely no worse than Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton ...Right? Finally, the guy explained the problem. It went like this: Yeah, Kramden and Norton were dummies, but that was ONE program out of a hundred. Andy and the Kingfish were dummies too, BUT it was the ONLY black TV program on the air ! Well, I got the message -- loud and clear.

Thank you Mary I did to whatever happen to common decency allowing people to give an opinion about a subject and then leave it be you aren’t attacking them they act as if the people they are on a video or whatever as if the person is there mom and they will scream at you over someone who certainly doesn’t know you not really does the defenders . I really should cut that kind of negative behavior out of my day I don’t hurt anyone I’m 65 years old and I don’t believe in this behavior and most likely aren’t either so you have a very wonderful Holidays with your family and I’m going to enjoy my beautiful family and the day the lord gives us to be kind happy and healthy and we loved the program on our old worn zenith tv 📺 which I’m not sure if you remember or not not everyone had a tv my families aunts and members couldn’t afford that they were old an on pensions so as a large fam does momma would always cook something wonderful and relatives would come for a visit an if something was special on they would visit eat snacks an watch the snowy screen 📺 until something happened and a program would come on to entertain us for a bit and then we turned it off and we all went to the screened in front porch my uncles an aunts would tell family stories and now an then ghost stories and it was wonderful I wouldn’t trade a moment of my childhood for we had love friends kindness and if we needed to be corrected as children any single or uncle a adult family would correct you and you were always feeling very uncomfortable with them watching over . I believe people have forgotten about what matters and it family friends respect love life and my goodness never behave like these folks do on KZitem. Today I was disgusted at that man attacking the other over that ancient innocent show those folks were actors an it was there job but that man was sickening and disrespectful immoral behavior women were on there but he did not care. I decided not me I’m going . Take care please excuse my reasoning for the way I feel about today . You have Very Merry Christmas and May God Bless you mam I m sorry I’ve kept you so long Thank you 🙏
