I did the voltmeter conversion on my '68 Mustang. (The original Ford ammeters are notorious for not working) Works GREAT. Also, Rocketman makes & sells Mini-tachs to mount in the instrument cluster in place of the clock. Good, reliable products.

Hey Robert! Good to hear from you. Things are doing well at the new shop. I already wish I had more shop but it's a step in the right direction. Cheers!

My wife owns a 1965 Mustang with the GT dash. The Amp meter never worked and I installed a Painless Performance wiring harness and the Amp meter still didn't work. I'm looking forward to this upgrade on her 1965 Mustang.

Great video brotha! I wanted to do this on my '66, but by the time I could, I decided to just upgrade all the gauges. We want more videos on that Fastback!! 😁

Oh cool! Ya it's definitely nice to do if you're not upgrading all the gauges. Dude! I know, we have been working like crazy on it to get it finished but I'll definitely do some update videos. Should be starting it for the first time here soon!

I got the wrong engine temp sensor installed on mine, reads based off resistance so it's actually just set back a little. Needle won't move till it's at operating temp and it sits perfectly at "3/4s" till it hits first maker. THATS when you know you're overheating

Hey Alf, are rod and main bearings the same size for 223 and 262 inline sixes?

I would not know the answer to that.

What did you do with the two wires previously attached to the amp meter? Did you use one to power the volt meter?
@AlfsMustangGarage
Жыл бұрын
I capped them off and labeled them. I pulled power from the accessory port of the ignition switch.

So the two original wires do not need to be connected together to supply power to anything else down line? Just capped off separately?
@AlfsMustangGarage

They do not. They are their own circuits, so you won't (shouldn't) have any other issues. They are just electricity hot at all times, so they should be capped and labeled if not being used.
