I instantly subscribed because you right off the rip started with showing all the different sounds and profiles the amp has instead of a bunch of talking about your opinions and all kinds of dumb sh!t most people don't care about all while laying on the personality like a corny tv or game show host. And I respect tf out of that. Plus you played a classic bass to show us a good medium of what's possible with even a passive basic guitar. Refreshing when your actually in the market for an amp and you have to watch a bunch of reviews. Thank you sir.

Bought this amp in 2010 when I first picked up a bass. Highly highly recommend it for it's easy of use, ability to expand, and expansive pallet of sounds. It's been the only amp I've ever needed even after 10 years. I've added on the second cab and at this point I'm about to just buy the second head as well. 1. for backup and 2. for wet and dry signals. tired of losing bottom end when I engage an effect (not the amps fault). Oh yeah and it has XLR out, tell me why I need another amp. Literally the second amp I buy is another one of these.

@@NtWarlock Do you have any ideas? Idk how else to get two seperate signals into each cab. I use the blend knobs of course but nothing compares with true stereo sound. Geddy Lee used to do this with a dirty and clean signal into two amps. Also wondering about running the cabs in series vs parellel lol no idea the difference in sound. I run my pickups in series and it's a much fatter sound but never tried the cabs in series.

If only this amp was at least 300w! I'm looking for a new head and this thing sounds sweet but qll i play is unmic'd skate punk and pop punk in a garage and my bass rig has to compete with either (2) amps running 4x12's and a loud drum set, I would need probably a minimum of 300w. I'm running a Hartke LH 500 (wtts) through a 4x10 & 1x15 along with a Tech 21 RBI preamp.

loud drum sets and 4x12's guitar cabs... the natural enemies of bass players! joking aside, I've seenthe Micro Vr in professional contexts, so I guess it's loud enough (I haven't tried it with a band yet). Honestly you’d be better off selling the two cabs and getting a bigger bass cab. I have the micro vr head, I hooked it up to a vintage 60s 18 inch speaker cab that I bought on Craigslist and it is good for gigging, it’s loud.. the little guy! Ampeg dropped the ball on this product big time. I’ve realized that on any cab of any size, that head vibrates to the point where it falls off the cab (which is stupid) Which is also why they have those holes on top.. to prevent that flaw from being revealed. Don’t let that discourage you from buying it. Still a good little guy, you fix that problem by buying Velcro from Home Depot or Lowe’s and it won’t move anywhere after! also why does this solid state amp have a fan in the back? Pretty pointless since there are no tubes! I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It does the job but they could’ve made the bass head a lot heavier by adding some bottom weight to prevent it from moving anywhere on non micro vr cabs. Hopefully they come out with a better version. For now I’ll keep my micro vr Velcro’d on my vintage cab.

@mannipples, go DI out to the FOH , and then mic the cab aswell , then the sound dude can dial in a blend to the PA's and your stage monitors or in ears! Also remember you can link two micro vr cabs together form more volume or you can play it through a bigger cab aswell! But, yes, for most any bar or club gig, these are plenty loud, assuming your micing and or going DI out to FOH.
