Hello, Ronnie, I'm watching you from Belarus, I don't understand English well, I try to navigate, I also love the harmonica 🙂

Lesson one, get a Honer, always, always, carry it with you. Play it whenever you are alone. Be alone a lot.

LOVE THIS! One of my favorite players and a great teacher! Big, fat amplified tone is a real SKILL all by itself. Good gear helps, but trust me - the single most important variable is TECHNIQUE.

When I am doing a 1 draw deep tone note should I be using my right or left hand cheek side?
@Harmonica123

I go for the right side but if tongue blocking, the left side is better.

Thanks Ronnie! Any tips on using a Shure microphone, amplified? Great tone!

Damn glad I stumbled across this...just had to switch to a bullet with volume control cause when my drummer kicks in I really need more meat on the bone plus volume, but I've been playing with a stick mic so long I couldn't vary my tone like you just showed. Guess I know what I'll be doing when I get off work in the morning. Great tips man.

Thanks Ronnie this is a helpful video. it's important to get a good seal. Butterfield was able to overdrive a dynamic element and get a fantastic tone.

Sorry if you mentioned this already, but what kind of amp are you playing through? Just a PA speaker or monitor? With the pedal it sounds killer.

Is there any real benefit playing a Rocket Amp harp or is it hype?
@Harmonica123
2 жыл бұрын
I'd say there is some benefit for those that are still working on good hand technique to help direct the air. Then again, Special 20s also does not have side vents and helps in the same way. With good hand technique, it doesn't matter so much. As to whether it's hype...depends on who you ask. I think it makes sense but any harmonica can be a good "amplified" harp in the right hands.
