The smoke is not from the oil to gas ratio, unless its some cheap mineral oil; its from the carb tune. I ran 8:1 Motul 800 offroad for lols once, zero smoke, just like at 50:1 or 32:1.

Yes! Absolutely! Quickshot is great for any gasoline engine that is not run frequently. I'd argue that Quickshot is most important in 2-stroke applications. Especially 2-stroke handheld equipment. They are the ones that seem to sit for long periods of time. There's nothing more frustrating than a chainsaw that's been sitting for a while and won't start when you need it. Consider taking a peak at the Data Bulletin within the Quickshot description it's much more detailed, www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-quickshot-gasoline-treatment-and-stabilizer-aqs/?zo=1649274 You're welcome!

Use to run amsoil Saber in the pillow packs, ran out of saber and started using amsoil interceptor. The only reason I’m using interceptor is I ordered a case of it in the quart sizes for a friend’s jet ski. Needless to say I ended up with a case of interceptor, so I started using it when I ran out of saber. The amsoil saber is hands down the best 2 stroke oil I have ever ran in my equipment. I ran the 100:1 mix in everything including numerous vintage chainsaws with no issues whatsoever. I also noticed the reduced engine temperatures while running saber oil. I also run their 10w 30 small engine 4 stroke oil in my mowers, pressure washers, and generators. I also noticed a reduction of engine temperature while running the 10w 30 4 stroke oil. As for the interceptor oil I mix it 3 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of 91 octane non ethanol fuel. I haven’t had any issues with the interceptor oil either although I will go back to saber as soon as I use it all up. Like most people I was skeptical of 100:1 mix as well, and being a vintage chainsaw fan didn’t want to destroy any obsolete equipment. But once I was satisfied it was safe I started using it and wasn’t disappointed, wow the vintage stuff loved it and ran great fantastic product. Sorry for the long post just my 2 cents worth.

I agree Interceptor or Dominator would be the best recommendation. However, just for simplicity, I use my SABER mix fuel can that I use for my trimmer, blower, and saw at 100:1. Zero issues and a lot let smoke that the injection system. Thanks again!

Hi David. Unfortunately, nothing quite like the SABER study. AMSOIL's Dominator and Interceptor 2-Stroke Oils are both outstanding options. There are some slight differences though. First of all thanks for your service. I’ve ran Saber in a 2018 Carbed Husky TE250 trail bike @ 80:1 for 3 years now. Tell me why the Intercepter would be a better than the Saber in this application?
@officeroil-amsoil3463
Жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. We really appreciate your support! Great question. The short answer is this. Everything AMSOIL builds is application specific. AMSOIL Interceptor Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is specifically designed for newer 2-stroke powersport machines. Where AMSOIL SABER Professional Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is built specifically for handheld 2 stroke power equipment. They both meet the same specs, JASO FD and API-TC. There are a lot of similarities. But also there are a few differences. Then there is the AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil that was built for those heavily modified racing 2-stroke applications. Sorry, don’t mean to confuse you anymore. But good news. It’s my understanding you can’t go wrong as long as you’re using an oil that meets or exceeds the OEM specs. Let me ask. What specification is listed in your owners manual? How does your Husqvarna like SABER? Any issues?
@evr-mr3cp
Жыл бұрын
I’ve ran Saber for a couple years per recommendation of Jeff Slavens of Slavens racing where I have purchased many parts. Recently t tried a quart of Klotz super techniplate which a buddy gave me after he switched to a 4stroke. While it seems okay, the bike seemed to run a cleaner with the Saber. The owner’s manual calls for Motorex @ 60:1. I’ve been running the Saber @ 80:1 again on Slavens recommendation and it has always worked well. I had the same spark plug for for almost a 100 hours before I did a top end. I’m sure the interceptor would be fine at 50:1 per Amsoil recommendation, but the Saber is more cost effective at 80:1 given the price for a quart is a wash. 🤷♂️
@evr-mr3cp

I also like the fact that I run the saber in my chainsaw and it has the built in fuel stabilizer. I have a tiny echo arborist saw that I use to trim trails on my dirt bike. It’s only good for about 30 minutes of use so if I run out I can refill the saw from my dirt bike gas tank. Win win no? 😂

@@evr-mr3cp Nice to hear SABER is running much cleaner than Klotz. The proof is in the pudding. You’ve been running for a while now at 80:1 with no issues. Stick with it! I’ve been very happy with Interceptor in my 2020 KTM 300 XC-W. I’ll be posting a video of my top end after 104 hours very soon. The biggest thing I don’t like about Interceptor is that there is no dye in the oil. It’s a clear gold color and you wouldn’t be able to easily tell if your fuel can was pre-mixed. For me it’s not a big deal with the XC-W being oil injected. Which, is what most folks use Interceptor for, the oil injected systems on snowmobiles, dirt bikes, ATV’s etc. Dominator has a nice red colored dye to help when mixing. May I ask where are you getting your AMSOIL from?
@officeroil-amsoil3463
Жыл бұрын
@@evr-mr3cp I believe that makes the decision very easy. Stick with SABER! Really nice having that extra reserve fuel you can full from your bike when on the trails. I run SABER in all of my handheld 2-stroke equipment at 100:1. However, I also use the same fuel can for my sons Yamaha PW50. I removed the injection system a while back and it loves the SABER. I like keeping things simple. I only have two fuel cans. One for pre-mix and the other for straight gas.
