This video brought back memories for me of cycling from Amsterdam to Brussels in 2023. I too used Dutch Bike Tours and opted for a night in Woerden, stayed at the same hotels as shown this video. Used the same company this year for a centre based holiday in Utrecht which was great. Now saving funds for next year and looking forward to another visit to the Netherlands!

I would love to go back to the Netherlands for another cycling holiday too!! Besides the excellent infrastructure Dutch Bike Tours made it very simple and enjoyable. Hope you have another great one next year!

Hi, great video! Thanks for posting. Would you recommend using an e-bike or regular bike for a similar tour? I’m 60 and fit but heard the winds can get rough. Thanks.

Thanks! That's a hard question, Joel! Wind...yes, for us the only day that was a bit annoying was while crossing that long bridge. The rest of the journey wasn't nothing extraordinary, and we were not moving really fast anyways 🙂 We saw many in e-bikes having fun too, so I guess it's a little bit of preference more than necessity for a fit guy. The hotels we stayed at, were mostly prepared to charge the batteries without much effort and of course you have the benefit to get places faster to walk around and visit. I suggested my wife to take an e-bike as I'm a stronger rider but she wanted 'the challenge' and did just fine!

I'm back watching your video series again! And I can't believe you don't have more views on them as they are really some of the best on the topic. We are booked to do a Bike Barge Tour along the Saar, Moselle, and Rhine Rivers next July and so looking forward to our return.

Awesome! I keep an eye on the Bike & Barge tours too and also like the idea of doing some of those European rivers. Looks like it's better to do it sooner than later as climate change is making the rivers drier year after year. Thanks for coming back and your kind words about my videos! I'm happy when I hear people find them useful to plan their own adventures (or at least dream about them!)

@@GermanDiManzo Yes! The rivers! I heard the Rhine was mere centimeters away from being impassable this summer! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing!

Excellent videos! I've just finished watching all of them and I can tell anyone planning to do this trip that you'll find lots of useful information. I'll do it next May; believe me, you have helped me a lot since it is my first European trip. Thank you German and friends, great videos, can't imagine the time it took to edit them and make them so wonderful. 🙂👍👍👍

Hahahahaha! You got me! Excellent observation and 100% true. I got my first road back shortly after that trip. There’s a video series from an early trip to Croatia on the making but.. yes, it involves bikes too ☺️

if you went any slower it would have been quicker walking - you only cycled 3 hours a day big deal

50 km a day? So you never learned to ride? Good job.
