Awesome video!!! Seeing the double pans is really neat, thanks for going out in the harsh weather. Lot's of other great catches too, like the ALP-45! I see that all the NJT trains were loaded with Superbowl ads.

What's going on with amtrak n njt with double pantengraphs up? Amtrak Disesl lite to n back from their yard for, plus great horns show with them. WAIT! NOW they got ALP45DP ON THE NEC. What's the next time you will catch the Raritan Central RR again? Nice video as usasl.

@john mck the reason they have both up is when there is ice the first one knocks any off the line and the second one can have a sure contact

That is a good question, but you will only see acs-64's 600-611 or 613, the reality of the situation is much worse but I cannot tell you more :D

Railfan44 1 pan clears ice off the catenary & the other makes contact. otherwise there'd be excessive arcing

+Marek Školník The first pantograph removes ice from the wire, so the second paragraph has better contact. If they used only one, than that one would have handle larger current with worse contact, which results in sparking. Sparking is awesome, but also destroys the conductive pads.

Same reason in CZE but to max 30km/h because troley shaking...... I dont know it could be used in high velocity :) But thx anyway :)
