I did not notice any switch heaters on the high-speed crossovers. It would think snow and ice would be a problem.

It's coastal so the Short Line isn't often hit by snow and also the point heaters are electric. Just a resistance wire on the outside of the stock rail.

Thanks. You don’t see switch heaters in central Texas. If any heater is in use, it is propane. I would expect electric heaters are much easier to maintain, plus you have catenary and a power source nearby. Great video. Love the long stretches of high-speed running. The Amfleet equipment does well at high speed. Thanks for sharing.

+Jersey Mike's Rail Videos Well not many people call the acela or regional a "shoreline", because they only travel the shore for a little bit down in conneticut. when you say shoreline that's more like the "shore line east" which is a commuter that travels between new haven and new London. the regional and acela travel on the "northeast corridor" make sense?

The rail line is informally called called the Shore Line by Amtrak.

It was also called the Shore Line by the New Haven Railroad :)

And sometimes the de-icers don't work - which is why the MBTA is STILL the butt of "Iced T" jokes! Besides, Texas can share war stories about ice with Georgia and BOTH Carolinas - let alone Taxachusetts.
