Amy's Song (Rob Scallon and Mary Spender rework) Verse Standing out against the wall Looking down the corridor I know I won't be here much longer Trying not to reminisce Of all the things that will be missed Losing you could not get much harder Chorus You've done a lot for me lately, You've done a lot for me lately, I should pay you back somehow, Amy Verse Holding on to all is hope Realizing I couldn't cope Constantly just bailing at water Sinking this relationship Knowing as I couldn't give Anything, close enough to matter Chorus You've done a lot for me lately, You've done a lot for me lately, I should pay you back somehow, Amy I know I've run away again, A thousand miles, from a friend Did you, ever feel me leave? All I'll do is pay the Ford The waves of guilt sent from abroad Tenderness was never meant for me Tag You've done a lot for me lately, You've done a lot for me lately, Last Chorus You've done a lot for me lately, You've done a lot for me lately, I should pay you back somehow, Amy I should pay you back somehow

😭😭😭🥰🤘🏻 Amy is my sister’s name. I know this song isn’t about how one 40something yr old woman feels for her younger 40something ur old sister, but it stirs up my feelings of gratitude for a life that has always included her and and how, no matter what we’ve been through in our lives, from being toddlers together to now being mothers of adult children, nobody will ever know and love me like my Amy. Nobody could ever replace my Amy. She’s done a lot for me always, and I was just reminded that I need to thank her. 😭😭😭

This is by far the best exhibit of Mary Spender's voice that I have heard to date on KZitem. It showcases the clearest tones of her singing, and is just beautifully augmented here by Rob Scallon's harmonics and completely subtle & gorgeous guitar playing, not to mention the beauty of the song itself. Wow.
