I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy so chill about slowly mutating into another creature before. The above statement can apply to discover my body and water womb world

Yames is so inspiring!! I'd never seen The Well before! His games are so unique and terrifying, but also you can't look away~ Also you're so right about Inscription, we need more hype talk! Yames, Faith, and Inscription are the unholy trinity and I love them

Analog horror- something bad happened, I describe it, here's a picture to come with it to hammer it in. Ymes games (and many good cosmic horror tales)- something happened, I can't describe or explain it, so here's a picture, try to describe it yourself

Yeah yames is the only game dev pushing completely fresh ideas that don’t seem to be influenced by anything popular. Remote ultra dark and unique horror ideas that borrow little to nothing from current AAA game concepts. So refreshing to be taken to new depths of terror and existential questions.

Absolutely agree with u. I "watch" games for the art. Searching for the most uniqe concepts that realy amaze me. It inspired me to become a 3d artist and let me beginn to learn blender. Im also trying to study gamedesign (i hafe to katch up on a school degree first). I dont realy care if the flying mechanics on a game are fun. as long as there is a uniqe concept and good story telling in the game like. The void stranger Omori Almost everything from kitty horrorshow.

All of yames' works have a transhumanist component to them. Humans assuming a completely different form, whether it's a new, alien one or a regression to a more primal, atavic shape. And they're never portrayed as purely good or bad. Change in itself is neither, however odd and upsetting it might be to the human mind.

In my opinion, a game that gives similar vibes to yames' games is Fear & Hunger. So many grandious and uncanny things happen in the lore and gameplay that you cannot help but feel like you are partaking in a helpless lovecraftian myth. And the soudtrack is great too!! Im finishing my Digital Games classes in uni and I definitely have both developers as great references for the horror genre. Great video btw! Subbed and looking forward for the next videos!

these games, especially The Well, remind me of Who’s Lila? that game is so beautiful and has such an amazing story, i recommend anyone reading this watches the video about the game (i forgot who uploaded it, but i think the title is something like: the greatest mystery you can’t solve. it’s so good..)

And I gotta say that since you enjoyed Growing My Grandpa so much, I highly recommend checking out the manga Dungeon Meshi, which is also an anime with episodes still coming out on a weekly basis. They have completely different vibes and I don’t wanna spoil anything but yeah that’s just my two cents. Thanks again for making such cool videos!

42:21 : not exactly a horror movie or series, but there is this one species in a series called dungeon meshi, and later on a type of creature is introduced, they are called demons, powerless at the very beginning but granting peoples wishes and desires to lure people in and consume said desires and wishes will turn them more powerful and more knowledgeable, to dungeon masters, (this part might of been theory so I’m not sure if this is fully true) they would turn into what a dungeon master needs, like an insecure dungeon master would need a more soft animal by their side, only two demons are seen really, and one of them has a more antagonistic role, (spoiler) the demon took a characters desired and wishes to consume and went into the characters body to use it as a vessel and feel it’s own desires
