Great job, Julie. It looks really good. I love doing yard work, mowing, weedeating and all, but I'm 71 now and my back just can't take it anymore. I wind up in bed for 2-3 days if I try to do anything anymore and I really miss it. I've always used battery powered yard equipment and they are so much easier. Blessings to you and your beautiful family. btw, I love this Home and Family channel you've created.

My Granny Thornhill had Sandy dirt like yours, and they lived in Georgia, she would get out and rake the dirt and would pull up the grass. It was neat going out there on Sunday, our father would take our bikes and we love riding in their yard. She had section off her yard and had flower garden it was so pretty. All the section of was fun to ride between her flower garden.

Julie, you did a beautiful job! As for your ground that won’t grow grass, you really need to till the ground up and work in some bags of potting soil to mediate the soil. It’s just got so much sand and clay in that area, plus the years of pine tree debris, it’s just depleted the soil and packed it down. After you do that, not sure if you grow Bahia grass in Texas, but it is virtually drought resistant. I had it in Florida and yes it would dry out & turn brown during the no rain and lots of heat but, if it rains, it comes right back. So, there’s another project for you & hubby. 😂😂😂😂 You really did make a huge difference, looks great. 😊❤😊❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I really like the outdoor equipment you picked out. I have been thinking about getting a battery powered blower that I can handle, now you have encouraged me to get it. Since you mentioned the grass not growing in that spot, try a ground cover instead. I think something like ajuga would be great, it doesn't take much and it fills in fast with pretty spring time blooms as a bonus.

Julie that small area is so cute and peaceful. We have the big white rocks along side half of the front of the house and on each side of walkway to the door. It was done like this when we bought the house. I have seen several videos where you put the white rocks tap them down and pour some kind of glue like substance and its like cement after. My husband just gives me the eye. It does feel so good to get projects done around the house. I have one planned similar to your but with an antique water pump and landscape timbers. But its a slow go. Getting down is my problem. Need a forklift to help me up. Weak back and knees. I enjoyed the video. And I was gonna say, I am like you, I love to do stuff myself and hate waiting for someone else. Those babies had to check out what you were doing. And yes, still praying for the lost baby to return. Great job

We did our landscaping with them many years ago. The landscape timbers were rotten & we just did those instead. We have around our tree trunks too & I planted hosta & day Lilly for no maintenance. We used lava rock instead of mulch. I do love the white rock you chose. I’m a doer too. I hate to wait when I want it done. It’s immediately or faster. 😂

We also have some of his other lawn care items because he is living with friends and his tools and such are in storage in our garage, I love the blower and the weed eater, especially. He also bought us a Ryobi bug zapper, and a mini chains saw for Mothers and Fathers day... they even have a ryobi lawnmower now! I can do them myself like you said, and some of my husbands tools are SO heavy! Creeping thyme may work for your area where grass won't grow....
