Thanks It was good to hear your testimony hear is mine . I am in my 45 time of reading the Book of Mormon . All the book is to be another Testament of Jesus Christ. It tells stories of how God deals With his Children. And asks us to come follow the Savior . With the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I have gained a strong testimony of Christ and try to follow His teachings and exaample . That is the message. What is everybody afraid of that book.

Now here, the Mormon Bibles assertion, at first glance, may not strike a chord with Vedic scriptural descriptions, but, on closer inspection, to a certain degree, it may hearken to the concept of the "Dissolution Events" that take place from time to time - (next one due in about it 427000years). So the description in the BofM is; Universal Resurrection ‘Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon - learned that the just and unjust alike would receive immortality through a universal resurrection, but only those “who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise” would receive the fulness of God’s glory and be “gods, even the sons of God.” Interestingly enough- both just and unjust - both receive immortality- at the time of ‘apocalypse’ yes, the Lord appears as Lord Kalki, at the end of this age of Kali, on a white horse, and slays the demoniac- but it is a blessing - and anyone who sees the Lord at the time of death- surely goes to Him! So, they are liberated impersonally remaining in Him- until the next cycle of material manifestation. ( not usually referred to as creation- to be manifest and unmanifest are phases!) But those that have gone to the Kingdom of God- that world doesn’t undergo dissolution- it remains unaffected by time. The ones that go there, are those who have unconditional love for the Lord. So, it is good to note some similarities found in different parts of the world.

I agree with Mark, thanks for actually reading the Book of Mormon! I also agree that one reading is not enough to appreciate scripture (try it with Isaiah). The BofM is unique because it was written by an ancient prophet named Mormon, who was shown our day in vision. He abridged the writings of his people and included things that pertain specifically to us. The details are so clear because they were written with us in mind. Imagine if the Apostle Paul wrote an epistle to “The Americans” or “The Millennials” wouldn’t that be a treasure for us in our time? It is easy to think that the clarity of detail is because it was written after the fact, but I put forth that prophets who are shown the future are essentially writing after the fact (look at the book of Revelation). To think that Joseph Smith composed the Book of Mormon from his imagination sounds good on the surface… until you think of the logistics it would take to write a 500+ page book of scripture in one take, without notes, in approximately 65 working days at an 8th grade reading level and you only have a 3rd grade education (the list can go on and on). Christ did not come to destroy the law or the prophets, but to fulfill. The Book of Mormon does not destroy the Bible, but strengthens it. It is not a competition, but a cooperation. They both stand as witness of the divinity of Christ and our need to have faith in Him, repent of our sins, be baptized by water and by the Spirit and endure to the end, relying alone on the mercies and merits of Jesus Christ. The heart of the Book of Mormon is it’s witness of Jesus Christ and our need for him. Please give it more than one reading. Please read it with the Bible and see if your understanding is enhanced, and your witness of Jesus Christ is strengthened. Thanks for reading and sharing. It is not the demonic book many are taught that it is (just as Christ is not possessed of demons as those in His day accused him of being).

The BofM speaks about qualifying to Own a Planet. There is actually a Vedic history of this happening- Dhruva Maharaj- a prince of 5yrs of age- wanted to sit on his father- the Kings lap- unfortunately he was not the son of the Kings first wife. This ultimately led to the first lady denouncing him and forbidding him to sit on the throne! Dhruva Maharaj- then asked his mum for advice- she told him to pray to God. That’s what he did! He performed many severe austerities- even eating and drinking very little and finally not eating anything for a long period. He wanted a Kingdom far superior to his fathers! Finally when Lord Krishna appeared to him- the Lord asked him what he desired- he bashfully replied that- he had been yearning for mere rocks when he sees now that the mere sight of his worshipable Lord was all he actually needed. The Lord however gave him the ‘Polestar’- that is the star that our suns rotates around! A place far greater than the earth! Even when we are tinged with material yearnings- by serving the Lord with dedication- He can still fulfil such desires! Actually- even we humans can get the post of Lord Brahma- known as the ‘Secondary Creator’ within the material worlds! It would take 100 continuous births of serving Him without sin! However we can transcend even the material creation in just one birth by serving Him with Love. Hare Krishna.

Refreshing to hear your perspective on the Old Testament; you correctly hit on it. The Book of Mormon has a tone of a 19th century church reflecting on history, but not a part of that history.

I have yet to watch the video but just based on the title alone, I’d like to thank you for making this video!! I’m also an evangelical Christian and a few months, I began my research into Mormonism after being given a Book of Mormon by a new friend I made. I was anxious of reading the BoM because I knew it had to have been demonically inspired if it is the means of affirming Joseph smith as a true prophet when he led people after a false god. But i read it anyways because I promised the friend I would, and quickly realized I had nothing to be afraid of. It plagiarized entire passages from the Bible and the prophecies were so uncharacteristically specific that it was so clearly phony. But I wish I had seen this video earlier when I was still wondering how I should approach the BoM. It would’ve been incredibly helpful, that’s for sure. Thank you again for your work! God bless brother Edit: just watched it and I couldn’t agree more about how the prophecies and the writing style between the BoM and Bible are SO different despite the BoM copying directly from the Bible. I especially laughed when the BoM explicitly said that messiah’s name will be Jesus Christ-that is SO specific that anyone who know their Old Testament knows that this could not be real prophecy about messiah written centuries before His advent.

Hey my hat is off to you brother for actually reading the Book of Mormon. First, reread Alma 36 to see that Alma, like Paul, was a destroyer of God’s church before becoming converted. Even Alma’s father, also named Alma, was a wicked High Priest before his conversion. So, those are two examples of very imperfect prophets of the Book of Mormon. Also look up Coriantumer. I think you should read again!! Secondly, I think you grace vs works arguement is not material in disproving the Book of Mormon. LDS believes that we are saved by grace, not by works. Nowhere in the Book of Mormon does it state that salvation is earned. 2 Nephi 10:24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved. Bless you brother, there are many more treasures in the Book of Mormon that you can’t find in one reading. Also remember that it was translated in 65 days by a 23 year old farm boy. And it contains Hebrew literary structures such as Chiasmus. Blessings and praise Jesus!!

The Book of Mormon itself doesn’t really contain things that are extra biblical. When reading some passages the combination of words are so powerful. Language is similar to the King James Version. However what I’m afraid of is Joseph Smiths other writings which teach things that are new and not found in the KJV bible. I have no way of testing whether what Joseph Smith says is true. Asking me to believe in extra biblical doctrine is not fair. Good insight you have on the subject.

Here are similarities in the scriptures. We should acknowledge. 1 Nephi L13 “Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes….” Bhagavad Gita Ch 4 verse 7-8 “Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion- at that time I descend Myself. To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.” These two hearken to the same effect. So, there are some similarities in scriptures! 1 Nephi Ch 8 L10 “And it came to pass that I beheld a tree whose fruit was desirable to make one happy.” This reminds me of “Desire Trees” that are mentioned in the Vedic Scriptures. These trees supply anything to you according to your desires!

Some great words that resonate with my realizations of yore; 1 Nephi 10 L 12 “Yea, even my father spake much concerning the Gentiles, and also concerning the house of Israel, that they should be compared unto an olive tree, whose branches should be broken off and should be scattered upon all the face of the earth.” My understanding is that all religions are but branches of the paths to the Lord. Ideally one should realise the seed and trunk is actually the Vedic Scriptural Injunctions. Nevertheless, each branch should not be broken lest they become atheistic and lose faith in God. If need be let their faith grow within the confines of their religion as long as it does not cause prejudice and arrogance. By growing they can one day bear a flower- and then a fruit and then they can generate a seed which can afford another opportunity to grow to the highest branch.

Thank you for your comment henniocus1. Did my comments from 7:25 until the video's end not help you? I would suggest you compare "Belief in Jesus and get your life in order" with the gravity of Paul's words in Galatians 3:1-14. None of my comments are to say that proper living before God is not a part of the Christian life. In fact, a couple months ago, I studied 30 of the largest Christian divisions and denominations in the U.S. Almost every one of them included the importance of holy living in their statements of faith. However, it was always in response to salvation, not as a means to salvation.

Only through Christ? In the new testament- there is only one verse that seems to point that it is only through Christ that one can get to the Father. In Johns testimony- he expresses that in John 14: 6. However I belive such an Exultation was meant to show his faith and inspire your devotion. Not exclude other Prophets/ Sons/ or God Himself. The Mormon Church though- does seem to have much more on expressing Christ as the only one who will free one from this material world. His Atonement is accessed by; 1. Faith in Jesus Christ. 2. Repentance. 3. Baptism. 4. Receiving the Holy Ghost. 5. Follow the instruction and example of Jesus Christ. Well, it seems to me that it does say to have proper works by dint of trying to follow Jesus's instruction and example. Not a bad thing.

Superiority vs Damnation ‘The Book of Mormon’ thus far. From begining to 2 Nephi Ch 24. It seems to remind me of another scripture more than I anticipated- It actually echoes a similar disposition of eternal life for the believers and eternal damnation for non-believers (of that scripture/ of God?). The Quran also portrays this type of philosophy.…. Yah, I know you are surprised by this- but look carefully; These scriptures rely heavily on admonishing others and salvation for oneself and one’s people. It seems to me, that it is in some way, a manner of stroking one’s ego. It seems to be based on fear, rather than love. It seems to be based on stoking superiority of one’s faith and self to the effect of damnation of another.

I know this is an old video. As a Latter Day Saint, I can definitely say there are some key things missing from this review. Like all the times in the Old Testament that isreal and Judah fell into iniquity and the Lord suffered them to be smitten by their enemies. Like the entire book of Judges. The majority of 1 and 2 Kings/Chronicles. God allows the people to be smitten and taken into captivity because of their “works”. The entire book of Leviticus is a tabernacle priest handbook handbook of works, mostly sacrifices, to be performed for the remission of sins. Or rituals to cleans someone who is considered “unclean” the Old Testament Saints were extremely work based because at the time, there was no atonement. So they practiced good works under the promise that when the Messiah came, the “righteous would be saved” the same promise we have today for the end times. The righteous will be saved. I understand the new covenant and old covenant are not the same. But the Book of Mormon focusing on good work’s actually goes perfectly with who the authors were and what time period they lived in.

Treatise 3 Book of Moses The Vedas describe the worlds- there are countless universes- all within bubbles that emanate from the Lords breathing and His pores of His body as He lies on an ocean in the spiritual cloud. Within each universe- there are countless worlds and planets and stars. Mormon Bible L38 “And as one earth shall pass away, and the heavens thereof even so shall another come;” Yup, we concur- heavens do undergo dissolution- but the Kingdom of God is beyond this! So, just as the Book of Mormon was set out to testify and corroborate the testimony of The New Testament, we should consider that it could also testify to corroborate the scriptures that God gave to all different nations as all are truly His children. At least there is a similarity in understanding that even heaven and heavenly opulences are still a fleeting material boon with an expiry date, sooner or later!

@@niroshangovinder4042 great comment. This perfectly aligns with what the Book of Mormons subtitle. Another testament of Jesus Christ. God is the god of all. He has children everywhere. And he speaks to all his children. And for those who believe the Bible is the only word of god and that the Native Americans have no connection to ancient Israel, here’s a question…. If Noah and his family are the only ones to survive the flood, then where the heck did the Native Americans come from, if not the eastern world?

So basically the book of Mormon and the new testament are not so different when it comes to being somewhat different in beliefs and theology compare to the Jewish scriptures/ Tanakh/Old testament. They both look like different religions from OT. On a friendly note, in the old testament, God forgives UNINTENTIONAL sins through blood sacrifices and burnt offerings (doesn't have to be blood, could be flour) but INTENTIONAL sins are forgiven thru repentance and charity.

Hey Alec, and thanks for your comment. With any two writings, there are always some similarities and some differences. The same can be said between the New Testament and the Book of Mormon. One of the big differences, however, is how salvation is described and attained. With this difference as serious as it is, I am always careful not to say things like "they are basically the same." Otherwise people might think that it hardly matters which of the two someone decided to trust for the truth concerning their eternal destiny. It matters deeply, and these are issues we cannot afford to get wrong.

@@achristianperspective they’re not even remotely the same. “Angel” Moroni clearly decides to deviate from basic truth gathering and practically debunks the BoM with its own words. The verses saying to “pray for knowledge from God” or whatever are basically a fail-safe measure to lure in non-believers and poorly-taught Christians. For Smith to even include such a section of “scripture” should raise the red flags. If it actually is true, they would depend on its inherent truth ness to speak for itself, not command the reader to go look for a sign to see if it’s valid.

I have yet to find a person that is in the Mormon religion that has converted because they read the book of Mormon and it changed them. I find most recent and receive it as truth to make family happy because of generations of involvement.I make it a practice to research on false Christs because of my upbringing and experience with a parent who will not seek Jesus because of the practices and abuse of growing up in the Catholic religion. It's so damaging to receive a false gospel and false Christ. I am baffled too this day the amount of really great and seemingly wise and successful people that hold to a version of Christ that is far removed from scripture. I pray that I will get more clarity on these matters. I don't want me or anyone to find ourselves or people who we thought were brothers and sisters in Christ come up short and have Jesus say depart from me I never knew you. It seems that many people do not understand the subtlety of sin and the enemy. It would be great if every evil we face was obvious from appearance.

Yes, there is differences between Vedic scriptures, and the Book of Mormon. 1 Nephi Ch. 20 Points towards being against worshiping the form of the Lord. However- the name and form of the Lord has been described in the Vedic Scriptures and it is authorised that we worship Him- He is absolute and thus is non-different from His name and Form- therefore worship of His Name and Form is indeed spiritual- as His Name and Deity Form are Spiritual- so too is worship of Him through these means spiritual. The Holy Name is exactly that- Spiritual and has the potencies of the Lord as He is non-different from His Name! And I am sure one hears this even at Church! So too, is His Confidential Form Absolute- Spiritual! So, Deity worship is authorised. Deity worship is worship of the Lords Form and is different from Idol worship which may be a concocted form. But do not bow down to any other God- But I bow down to the Supreme Person- Krishna!

Here is my reaction to reading the Mormon Bible ; Becoming God? Even within the Eastern religions- there is a prominence of different cults some believing that they can merge with the supreme: thus becoming one with Him. It is a common concept- however- it is true to a certain degree- nothing is actually impossible for the Lord- we are all part and parcel of Him. This is due to His mercy- you can merge with His ‘Brahmajyoti’- His Impersonal Effulgence- but this is not the highest relationship one can have- it is to a certain degree liberating (no suffering for aeons) but there are risks of ‘falling’ into the material world again! Also it lacks the intimate mellows of LOVE! A transaction between two independent persons!
