Going through similar things, I can tell you that once you and your support team figure things, it gets easier. Hang in there, be good to yourself, laugh when needed, cry when warranted, remember to eat and drink your water! We're so glad you're here, and we'll be here for you. ❤ I haven't posted for months, and I don't have the reach you do... take your time, and please be well!

I was 7 months trying to tweak my meds once...worst time of my life. Cried so much my eyes were absolutely raw. Only slept 2 hrs a night for months. As soon as we got the right med, it was immediately apparent. Even so, it really is a lifelong battle. Your meds don't make your feelings. They just make it easier to process them. This IS a lifelong journey, and your self awareness WILL get you through this. As far as vlogging, we are happy to see and hear from you at any time. And girl, you gotta pay the bills. Do what you need to do to take care of you first. We love you and can't wait to see whatever you post next. Stay wonderful. We love you

Emily, your struggles are completely valid. The hardest part (in my experience also struggling with anxiety and depression) is the frustration of knowing that most people will not understand how detrimental mental illnesses are to our livelihood. Acceptance therapy has actually helped me a lot because it has helped me feel less sorry for myself because I would psycoanalyze everything my brain does and feel so much pity that I have to “live like this” This sh*t affects every aspect our lives, and it sucks that the world is not built to accommodate. Please do not feel guilty or lazy for not keeping up with your promises because your brain is actively fighting against itself which you cannot control. I know there isn’t much anyone can say, but you have helped so many people talking about your experiences, and you have made me feel less alone during the lowest points in my life. P.S. you should look into learning to crochet! A lot of therapists recommend it to keep your mind busy and distract from never ending thoughts. It also helps you feel like you’re being productive and it keeps your hands busy! Last year when I was going through severe depression, I would crochet all day every day and it helped keep my mind at ease and forced me to at least be doing something. Love you and I wish you the best!

Dearest Em! It's hard not to criticise yourself, trust me, I know! We need to remind ourselves that whatever we're feeling is valid. Personally for me, what works is I keep telling myself "this will pass" thanks to my therapist for that! 😅 day by day it gets a little easier, whereas some days it feels like nothing is going right. We all love and support you through this time. I can't speak for everyone, but I will say that I will continue to watch your videos whilst you grow as an amazing, inspirational woman. ❤️ wish you the best you beautiful soul!!

You’re getting through and that is so impressive! I have been in your shoes and scrambling for answers it’s so overwhelming and even scary. For me, exploring my neurodivergence and getting a team of providers that understood how it affects ALL aspects of my life changed everything for me. I’m on the fewest meds I’ve ever been on (fewest just because I’ve been fortunate to find the right ones) and changed entirely how I went through my day to day life. Learning what my mental capacity actually is and accepting that I can’t do what some of my other friends can on a day to day basis has improved my mental and physical health more than I can explain

It’s nice to see you Emily! Two things, 1. Yes I would totally watch your older vlog footage, I thoroughly enjoy watching you and your content, and 2. This is super weird but whenever I can’t sleep and I try literally everything, and I mean I have had a week long episodes like you were describing, the ONLY thing that works is laying in bed upside down. Meaning put your head where your feet normally go. I know it sounds so dumb, but seriously idk why but it works. And I totally forget about it every time I can’t sleep until it’s been days. Once I remember and do it I knock right out. It makes no sense at all but try it! Ok love you bye ✌️

Hoping you are towards better times and wishing you nothing but the best!! And I would absolutely watch vlogs that are not up to date, your vlogs are so fun to watch I don’t care when they are from! But don’t put too much pressure on posting them if you are not mentally up to it, if you can, I’ll definitely watch, but there is no pressure to. Do whatever is best for you and your health ❤️

I have insomnia as well. My mind races when I try to sleep. Something that helps me is I basically write a story or movie in my head. That way I focus on one thing. It may seem odd but it helps me a lot. I can’t watch a movie because I focus on that too much but for some reason making up my own in my head quiets all the other thoughts but doesn’t keep me up from focusing too hard. I hope find your balance! Youve got this girl! Also yes all the footage pleaseeeeeee!

Hi Emily, I really hope the sleep meds are working. I fully agree that sleep is the most important thing and once you have that figured out it will help make everything else at least a little better. We all care about you and your well being. I know we can't control or understand the way our brains work (I'm struggling so much my second to last semester of my master's program for no reason and its infuriating) but it doesn't speak anything about our worth as people. We love you and support you and if sharing past vlog experiences with us will help in any way, you know we will watch them :) and we'll consider ourselves extremely grateful! Also I love how vulnerable you are because it’s so relatable and something people don’t talk about often enough. I’ve wanted to be a mom my entire life and my life felt so empty without a child. I always said “when I’m a mom I’m going to have my life together because I’ll do anything to make sure my kid has a mentally stable mom with a stable life” well I got pregnant, had a baby, hormones took the best of me. I was MORE critical of myself because I’m like “you have a baby who relies on you, this is all you’ve ever wanted, why aren’t you stable you’re a piece of shit mom” then I got on MUCH needed medication and expected that to fix my whole life and I just didn’t. I’ve adapted the phrase “you can put a bandaid on a bullet hole but eventually you’ll need stitches” stitches being therapy and hardcore internal work. Sorry for the long story long. Love you

If you also have adhd on top of anxiety/depression (like me), a sudden pause in “novelty” so to speak, can feel so so awful. It’s easy to get lost and distracted in all the movement and then stillness makes it all come crashing down. You’re facing the painful parts of yourself in the stillness- it’s bound to happen when we pause. Im there too. A messy room gets worse before it gets better, love. We got this ❤ no pressure over here at all.

Something that is helpful for me when I need to set goals for myself (like trying to exercise daily, or drink a glass of water), but keep failing to meet them, is to set the goal as minimal as possible (like doing one set of 5 squats each day, or drinking one sip of water each day). It's not a lot, it may not make a huge difference to your actual physical help, but its better for my mental checklist, it helps me avoid feeling too much pressure from that checklist, and it's easier to keep the momentum once I've started small (I've done one set, I could do another. I've had one sip, I could finish the glass). Best wishes 🥰 Eta: you owe us nothing and I'd watch the back dated vlogs!
