Are these videos part of some depopulation plans? Get some curious kids electrocuted by making bare circuits and hooking them up on either 110 Volts or 220 Volts without explaining what any of the components do, without any warning or safety guide ? I almost electrocuted myself experimenting with electricity when I was a kid and there were plenty of warnings in the magazines I would scavenge ideas from. And being stupid just wanting to see if more voltage equals more volume, light or whatever I hooked up the 220 volt to my 300 + experiment kit !!! You can guess the result, thank god for the inventors of fuses. And I blew up and burnt many more things and got electrocuted at work, by car batteries, not checking if the light is on or off switching bulbs, cutting cables that are still charged. And I witnessed serious injuries, thankfully not deaths but 1 guy I worked with needs lifetime heart meds and was in coma from a power drill and a puddle of water. There's people who died making these fractal burning artworks using transformers and high voltages. Please people, if you create these videos and you have knowledge about electronic circuits then explain what you are doing and build your experiments with safeguards like fuses and switches. And isolation from exposed wires and components. Especially when using the wall socket voltage without any voltage regulators. It's not even really clear wich way the diodes are pointing. If one is inverted they will blow up and could start a fire or scare the builders and make them touch the exposed components in a panic. These videos are nice but I just see kids getting shocked, fuses being blown and house fire starters... Drop the music volume and explain the experiments. Or at least do a: "Don't try this without an adult" or something like that.!!

Is that a gallium-arsenide (GaAs) photocell? I remember experimenting with those in physics class in high school ("Beginning Physics"). I had a predilection toward electronics, so the teacher steered me towards a more electronics-oriented classroom routine. After building my first crystal radio receiver, my next project was to build a circuit like this, using a GaAs photocell as a light sensor. Got a good grade. Next project was to modify the original to add a buzzer and set it to off when the ambient light darkened below a preset point (preset point was determined by adjustment of a potentiometer). That was my best class in school. I count this as part of my early training. After graduation, I attended a trade school for electronics, then a second one for aviation maintenance. Later, I went back to the first school for an additional six months for avionics. My high-school physics classes definitely paved the way!
