A message from Dr. Jim Lahoski:
“Two years ago, I resigned as superintendent of the NCOESC. I had been sick for pretty much the entire year before I quit. I knew I wanted to feel better and take care of myself and just needed quality time to do so.
Unfortunately, right after I quit in late 2020, I tripped over a stool and fell. I was immediately paralyzed along with being full of sepsis. I was rushed to the The James Brain and Spine Hospital in Columbus. I had three surgeries performed on me that morning. I still had no ability to move the lower part of my body. I was facing the most difficult time of my entire life.
I am very, very lucky to be where I am today. This is not something that anyone can prepare for and it could happen to anyone. But I am very, very fortunate and grateful to have my family and friends during rehabilitation.
My mental toughness and physical well-being were being challenged. Through it all, I tried to remain positive and hit those obstacles head-on. It was during that period, that the attached video was made.
We all know the daily challenges of life can be difficult, so if this video helps or inspires just one single person, it is worth sharing.”
