That interviewer is a pure creep. But Anna really handled herself like a boss. A really good case example in vocalisation and composure in an interview/discussion as you can see him struggle to get his way throughout the interview but she politely refuses him the opportunity with finesse.

I've met many women who don't talk over people but constantly make the conversation about them as much as possible, and I have met men who talk over people. I don't think either sex does more than the other, and I know I hate it when people do it so I never do it. I'm a male. I wouldn't be surprised if men do it more because they're naturally more dominant, but in a nutshell? Nope. Maybe you're just soft spoken, talk constantly or are boring to listen to.

The bad part about being a woman this beautiful and famous at that time, most man see you only as an object. Even Godard himself treated Anna really bad, and used to betray her lots of times throughout their relationship. That's really sad. And it's even more sad knowing this didn't change over time, things keep being the same nowadays, but at least some women rights are now conquered. Rest in peace Anna.

I watched Pierrot Le Fou couple of months ago and I am now finding myself look at videos of Anna randomly. I absolutely love her. She was a true beauty in the superficial way but more importantly - she had that which women charm you with. That expressiveness and emotion on her face. What a lady. Love her!

Le journaliste qui l'interview est François Charles Bauer, alias François Chalais. Durant l'occupation, Il a écrit dans "je suis partout" (journal violemment antisémite) et "combats", le journal de la Milice française". il aurait ensuite rendu des services à la Résistance, ce qui fait qu'il a fini décoré !?!? Il n'aimait guère qu'on lui rappelle ses années de proximité avec Vichy. Il s'est battu avec Jean Edern Hallier à ce sujet et sous les caméras. Il s'est ensuite appelé François Chalais avec ce ton si particulier...certains diront si désagréable..si déplaisant... C'était sa marque de fabrique....

She was very thoughtful about the questions, she is honest about her feelings, and the interviewer wanted more salacious words but she didn't go there. She had class was reserved and I'm sorry she had to be thought of as "Godard's soul mate" instead of Anna Karina.

I loved this interview, interviewer and interviewee, but after revisiting it through comment section I can see how some women can find the interviewer sexist but if he has this style with everybody then he is by definition, not. I think these kinds of conversational interviews are pretty rare nowadays and it was quite nice to see. Even in podcasts people don't interview and converse like these. It just seems very little boundary between the two and freedom to indulge deeper into psyche like "friends".
