Mike is great. He and I have been to a lot of the same campaign events. Spokane is awesome, I have so much support there. He is in a very crowded primary. This makes me support him more. Spokane is getting pretty red. I hope he does well.

WA has not had an honest election since before 2004. We need paper ballots counted by people, not rigged by computers and Democrats. People are working to get election integrity. Pray they succeed. The right people should win. Helps knowing who to vote for.

An issue has just come to my attention and I'm wondering if I've been breaking laws. I haven't been able to find a lot of definitive answers on states I have been searching forp. The issue is whether or not you are allowed to carry a gun ON YOUR PERSON while driving a vehicle. It appears that some if not all states apparently, you must have the gun in the glove compartment. Even the center console does not qualify! Is this true? Is there any kind of chart or list that says exactly how a gun can be carried inside a vehicle? I still have a valid CCW from my state and do occasionally travel to neighboring states. And can the gun be loaded in the car, or does it have to be unloaded and the ammunition separated? If that is all true, then that makes having a gun for self-defense rather useless and pointless.

Not sure if Baumgartner misspoke, but I think it's referred to a a Convention of States in Article V, not a Constitutional Convention. The difference, I believe, is that only the amendments proposed when the convention is called can be considered. So I think that avoids the common concern of opening of a can of worms and the 2A or anything else not proposed being dismantled. Is that accurate to say, Bill?

Here's what I want to see for managing congress. - Term limits of 3 or 4 four-year terms. - Divide the entirety of the House and the Senate into small pockets that amount to 4 years worth of quarterly voting or voting every 4 months. This would break up the party system as all congressmen would be constantly shuffled around and less able to party up. It would also allow the people many more opportunities to vote while paying more scrutinizing attention to smaller groups of politicians. - No more stock market privelages while holding office, but allow for your typical 401K, Roth and other investment plans. Also, spouses and immediate family members can be audited once every 2 years to evaluate for corresponding trades in line with the politician's inside knowledge. Present this info in reports to the people to influence voting based on such transparency.

Do you think that a 3 party system would work? In a 2 party system, where a few Senate votes could mean a bill passing or not passing, a few wackos can extract concessions for their own personal projects in exchange for their vote on even mundane things. In a 3 party system they simply can't do this unless they somehow achieved a majority; they would actually have to... you know... do their jobs and vote on good bills.
@reaper3393

@abercrombieblovs2042 I'm not suggesting a 3 party system though. I'm suggesting a method of voting that keeps them from being able to cooperate as large parties at all. This forces them to have to vote on bills more independently and under more watchful public eye. I don't want party practice at all. Large parties are the problem, period. No more group think. I want them to have to vote by their own beliefs and stand on their merits to be judged by the people. I want the people to be better at deciding if their ideals are to be kept or discarded.
@abercrombieblovs2042
3 ай бұрын
@@reaper3393 That's true. But wouldn't group think still occur no matter what? I might not be understanding your proposal correctly but it still seems like congressmen would be able to communicate with each other, and form voting blocs. Politicians are tricky buggers after all.
@reaper3393

@abercrombieblovs2042 think of it like this. 4 years divided by 3 months is 16 voting sessions. So every 3 months (quarterly voting) a group of them are being voted on. The purpose of this is to keep them constantly shuffled in and out in small groups by the people voting frequently. This means the people can focus on them more individually when their turn comes up for voting and prevents them from coordinating with each other in large groups. It forces them to stand and be seen on their merits more individually rather than in group policies and makes it easier for the people to evaluate and decide on them with better focus. It does put more responsibility on the people, but also makes the voting practice more regular and habitual.
@reaper3393

@abercrombieblovs2042 with term limits combined with the constant voting shuffle and stocks trading removed from their privelages, it also breaks down their incentives to stray from honest self representation. We could even throw them a bone, give a "retirement package" at the end as a reward for earning the people's confidence only if they make it through the full allotment of terms.

Term limits should also be applied to the Supreme Court. I say NO to a constitutional convention. Talk about opening Pandora's Box. 😢 If you can't guarantee victory on the issue(s) you support, then you shouldn't go there. Because you could end up turning the 2nd Amendment upside down. Unless you actually want to start a Civil War. I don't.

Disagree with the Supreme Court, we need a slow moving court that politically doesn't change much every generation. Thomas over 30 years, Roberts almost 20 years, Alito almost 20 years.

@MT_Madman if it hasn't become so politicized, I might agree with you, but it has, and it's obvious even to the most casual observer. Term limits under such conditions would tend to balance the court over time. Say 8 to 10 years. Also, i often feel some, if not most, either become too complacent or too authoritative. Furthermore, there should be no doubt that an independent ethnics board should be created to oversee inappropriate behavior.
@MT_Madman

@@rondo1775 I disagree with you, I believe it would become more politicized. There's been too many times we've had 8 year Presidents or one party in charge of either the Executive or Legislative branch, or both, which would allow either party the ability to 'stack the court'.
