This is a series of introductory segments prepared by the Church for media and other visitors to the 2002 Winter Olympics which were held in Salt Lake City. The Olympics introduced much of the world to a wider understanding of the Church and Church President Hinckley embraced the attention with gusto. The "Mormon Moment," as the years-lasting period of notoriety came to be called, was without a doubt the highlight of the first decade of the 21st Century for the Church's cultural presence and acceptance.
