It depends on your philosophy of honor. To some, it would be honorable to die by tradition. To others, they may see it as dishonorable to not save a fellow human being over a few words of people long gone. Beliefs, debate, condemnation, honor, all perceptions upheld individually in each person. Makes me appreciate the complexity of human nature. I am grateful for others beliefs because it makes me reflect and challenge my own.
@Skoxe
22 сағат бұрын
@@coryclark5442 I think it is not logic that is at play here, or the lack there of. It is simple difference in beliefs. One views life as the top priority, no matter the beliefs of others. The other leverages what they perceive as honor and tradition above all else. Not saying anyone is right or wrong, that all depends on societal stranding (modern societal standing dictates life above tradition) but it is a great talking point to develop our own "traditions". The tradition of life and equality. A "Tradition" that itself may even seem illogical in another hundred years.

CPR training teaches you that whoever is first to respond/present is the one that takes care of things until EMS arrives. If the lifeguard was not the first responder, they could have asked what they can do to assist but should not takeover unless the first responder requests them to. The first responder is the one that issues all orders from then onwards. This is purely to eliminate confusion and bring order to an emergency situation. And I will say that even if you are the first responder but aren’t trained to do CPR or anything medical related, literally screaming for help or calling 911 is good enough. The 911 operator will guide you through CPR and tell you what to look out for.

So, I'll say here as it's not really possible in the flood of response on the other commentary. Basically, and traditionally, Japan view blood as something impure. Warrior should purify themselves after battles, works on dead bodies, animals' leather... are made by the (almost) lowest caste (bandits are the lowest caste), so I'll let you guess what menstruations looked like in old Japanese's traditions. Is it misogynistics by today standards? Totally. Is modern Japan misogynist? Yes. Was tradition misogynist by intent? That's a hard one to answer, because on the other side, women had far more power on the household than in most of the world (I mean, even to this day and age, in Japan, the tradition of the husband to give ALL his earning to his wife who will then give him an allowance on his own earning and keep the rest is still in practice. Also, she determine the amount only by her own judgement), plus, in the 5 mains gods of the Japanese pantheon, 3 are women: Amaterasu (Sun), Tsukiyomi (Moon), Izanami (Life, Death, Rebirth), and Amaterasu is usually considered to be the leader of the Japanese pantheon. Quite strange for a misogynist tradition.
@ruthietube
8 сағат бұрын
it was misogyny back then , just because some women had a tiny amount of power in some homes doesn't mean women were treated well or respected. Women have menstruated since humans evolved, that's 50% of the population, for all of human existence. Men still treat women as " dirty " now in 2024 in some cultures. Men are hysterical and tyrannical and afraid of menstrual blood . Like immature babies . Education is essential for men .
